“A most enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 1 night as a special treat. We stayed in an executive room with our dog in the main part of the hotel. We stayed for bed and breakfast and a four course meal in the lake view restaurant. Service in the restaurant was excellent, food amazing and breakfast was unbelievable! My husband and I didn't need anything to eat until the evening we had such a big breakfast.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The room was beautiful, we just wish we had had more than one night to really enjoy it. The dog was made very welcome and she did not effect the standard of the room we were given. Before we left, we were given a tour of the hotel and the dog was welcome to come with us. We really loved the lake house rooms. These have got very bad reviews and it put us of staying in them. For this reason I wanted to see what these rooms were like. They were newly refurbished and although slightly smaller, had all the same conveniences as the executive room. They have lovely private balconies overlooking the lake and my husband decided that if we ever go to stay again,he would like to stay in one of those!

I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, the location is idyllic and the panoramic views of the lake and mountains is wonderful, definitely the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in.

Dear Elizabeth,

Many thanks for your lovely review. We are truly delighted that you had an enjoyable experience at Harvey's Point.

It is great to hear such positive feedback regarding our recently refurbished LakeShore Suites. To combine two small, dated rooms into a beautiful new Suite with private balcony on the waters edge was the right decision for our business and now we can be proud of each room in the hotel.

It will be our pleasure to welcome you, your husband and your dog back to Harvey's Point in the not too distant future.

Kind regards,

Deirdre, Marc & Team.

This this the end of our 4th visit to Harvey's Point and again no disappointment.
Superb location with large rooms (we have always stayed in the Deluxe Suite - best for the family and our 2 dogs). Yes, Harvey's is very dog friendly.
Very friendly and helpful staff but we missed Damian in the restaurant.

What can I say about Harvey's Point that has not already been said? In a word, Nothing!
We were staying for 2 nights as a birthday treat for me and my partner could not have picked anywhere better -
From the moment we arrived to a fabulous warm Irish welcome and had our bags carried to our room by the fabulous Brendan, to the moment we checked out, everything was perfect! Our room was the most luxurious I have ever stayed in. Big comfy bed, beautiful furnishings, a jacuzzi for 2, classical music in the bathroom, sumptious carpets, fluffy bathrobes and slippers, a well stocked mini bar if you so desired. I could go on and on and on about the room.
The food was utterly out of this world, both in the bar and at brekfast (I would recommend the berry smoothies).
The setting was magnificent, the rain storms didn't matter in the slightest! In fact, it was perfect, sitting looking out over the Lough and hearing the rain beat off the roof - perfect.

The staff could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a genuine smile....all in all, Harvey's Point is perfect in all ways and the staff are a credit to the owners. I can honestly say that I cannot wait to come back for my next visit.

Room Tip: They are all stunning

This is one of the best hotels I have ever visited; huge guest rooms, turf fires, cheerful and competent service and excellent food. I cannot understand why it does not have a 5 star rating. A spa does NOT make a hotel any better!! We spent 2 nights in Harvey's in late October and found the experience very relaxing and rewarding. The surrounding scenery is unbeatable. Access to the hotel is on a narrow road and the reading room should be better stocked with games, magazines and daily papers - not removable! But these are minor details in an exceptional hotel. Try the toffee apple dessert in the fine dining dinner - and you do not have to go for the offer; we just had mains and desserts and it was priced accordingly. And what a great wine list. Well done all.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lake - dog rooms are also available.

Just back from our first ever trip to Harvey's Point today and I had to share our experience. Our stay was wonderful; this was a couple of nights away as a kind of mini honeymoon and we were treated like royalty throughout our entire stay. In fact, Sean kept calling me a princess as he took our bags to our penthouse suite!!! Luxurious doesn't begin to describe it. Also, although the hotel was busy judging by the people there for breakfast, when we were in our room we could have been in the hotel alone; it was so quiet and peaceful. We had our dinner in the hotel on our first night there and it was absolutely delicious :) There is everything you could possibly want for breakfast including freshly made omelettes or pancakes with either maple syrup, golden syrup, honey, or grand marnier (!) - I can't think of anything for breakfast that wasn't available... The location is breathtaking and even though it rained a lot we managed to get out for a lovely walk and take some beautiful photos beside the Lough. We will definitely be back; and I don't think we'll be able to wait until our first anniversary to indulge ourselves again.

Last week we went back tot Harveys Point on the Shores of Lough Eske county Donegal. It was our eight visit in five years. We brought the parents of my wife with us this time. They wanted to see if all our stories about Harveys Point were true. They were as amazed as we were the first time we visited this hotel. Everything was perfect. The room, the food and the warm hospitality. This is definitely a first class hotel. We stayed for four nights this time in a Premier Suite of 87m2 with a stunning lake view. It was all too short!
Definitely coming back next year!
