“What a treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We've been to many hotels across the globe and Harvey's Point is definitely up there among the best. Not only because of its wonderful location, spacious and luxurious rooms, and heavenly breakfast buffet in the cosy, classy dining room, but also for its amazing service level; low-key but always kind, personal and helpful.

Needless to say we enjoyed our three night stay a lot, and can recommend fully as a base for excursions into wild, beautiful Donegal and even the northern coast of Northern Ireland (don't miss Giant's Causeway).

A pool and a gym would make it perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view room (even-numbered rooms).

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for your high recommendation of Harvey's Point and the beautiful Northern half of Ireland. We are delighted that you have discovered our 'little piece of heaven'. There is an abundance of attractions in the region and Harvey's Point is the perfect base for touring or indeed a destination in itself to relax and escape from the busy world. We fully agree that a pool and gym would greatly enhance our product. They are certainly on our wish list and just as soon as resources become available, we will introduce these facilities. We hope that your ongoing travels will bring you back to Donegal sometime and we look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back again to Harvey's Point.

Kindest personal regards,

The Gysling Family & Team.

My husband and I are just back from a weekend stay in Donegal Town and Harveys Point was our First stop. When we got to the hotel, we received a very warm welcome from reception and were then shown to our room and given a tour of it. It was simply outstanding, we could not believe the size of the room and the bathroom. The room was so clean, comfortable and very homely. You could live there.
We also ate in the Seafood bar and resturaunt on Friday evening and it was some of the nicest food we have ever had.. To top it all off, breakfast was beautiful. So much to choose from and all very fresh. The surroundings are also beautiful. We will definatley be back once we save the money to go again.

I stayed for only 2 nights with my wife and 2 grownup sons. We really enjoyed our stay to the maximum. The wonderful location was not the only reason, actually the well trained, helpful, understanding and dedicated staff was an important factor in making our stay a real pleasure. The general manager was all around making surethat everything is fine .I also appreciated the high level of cleanliness and artistic touches that appeared in every corner of the hotel and its surroundings. I will definitely come again. Ahmed

Harvey's Point has done it right. Everything is spot on, from the moment you walk into the reception to the moment you leave.
On arrival the staff greet you with big welcoming smiles and after a quick check in you are escorted to your room.
The rooms are amazing. Big, comfortable and spotless. The beds are HUGE so a good nights sleep is never a problem.
Dinner was excellent, but the breakfast was the best... incredible. Copious amounts of food and cooked to order pancakes.

All in all our weekend at Harvey's Point was most enjoyable and I will most certainly visit again.

Absolutely stunning hotel, Beautiful scenery and friendly staff, I enjoyed an upgrade to a suite which was Spectacular. I attended a wedding. We had a buffet selection for starters and desert which were lovely, alittle disappointed with portion size of main course. My only criticism was the price of the drinks at the bar( E8.50 for a short and mix) making it an expensive day out.Otherwise a very enjoyable experience

We were stayinv here as part of a wedding. The food was great and the staff were great. Some aspects of the room require attention such as worn carpers and it is a bit price y but apart from that it was good

Just returned from a 3 night mini break.
Compelled to write this review having sampled the delights of the new seafood bar and grill. The lobster is quite simply divine! Cooked to perfection - top complements to the chef!
Breakfast, as indeed many others have reported, is a feast!
Stayed in a lakeshore suite (on account of our little bichon) - nice - very clean and comfortable kingsize bed. Lovely bathroom. Our expectations were perhaps heightened given some of the reviews where others perhaps waxed lyrical!
Nice spot to base yourself for touring Donegal. But do please note that walks etc are off-site - not within hotel grounds. Think other reviews have been somewhat misleading in that respect.
Give it a try, and please don't miss out on the lobster!!!

Dear Jay,

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your comments. It is an exciting time at Harvey's Point with the opening of our new Seafood Bar & Grill. It's still a work in progress but we are of course thrilled with the excellent feedback so far. The Lobster is my personal favourite too! Fair point in relation to the walks and we have plans in place to work on this. There is a lovely private forest on the shores of the lake which is part of our grounds and we will be making a loop path there in the coming months. It will be a great place to take your dog for a walk. We look forward to welcoming you back again sometime.

Special greetings from the Gysling Family & Team.
