“not bad but!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2007

just back after a 3 night stay in the mill park.my family andi were there for a family wedding our stay was pleasent but my wife had family over from america.one couple e'mailed this hotel 4 times to find out what rooms were available and not once did they get a repley back so they picked the expensive long distance telephone and rang to find out that they had no rooms available disgrace.e'mail is part of our modern lives today should not of happened so they had to stay in a near by hotel and taxi back and fort over they 3 days we were there.my wifes cousin also from the state's had a shocking experience the morning of the wedding she was using the trouser press and an got an electric shock so bad she could not fell her arm for some time afterwards.could you imagne if it was a child mill park you were very luckey.these problems should be addressed a.s.a.p .apart from these problems the mill park is the best hotel donegal town has to offer belive me i stayed in them all.our room was a family room with double bed and 2 singles very clean but slighty dated(wallpaper borders etc)breakfast was the best id seen in a long time selfservice help your self to as much as you like 'great spread'.pool was nice but only 4 feet deep also good kids pool.there is also apartments at back of the hotel which i heard are spacious and very good value' if only i was told about this when i booked 4 months in advance.so to some up the mill park hotel nice for a wedding' short stay or weekend break and if they could sort out those little problems i would be proud to say that this is one of the best hotels my family and i have stayed in 'in ireland' ok donegal!!!

Stayed here for a wedding. Very impressive reception area. Room was large and clean if a little dated. Leisure centre looked basic enough. Wedding was handled very well and staff were on the ball. The food was ok if not amazing. I probably would go back. One thing though, we arrived at 3pm and our room wasn't ready! Thought that was a bit poor to be honest.

Just got back from our stay in Ireland, we've had a lovely time.
The Mill Park Hotels staff and management were most kind and courteous and gave me permission to play their lovely piano - even setting it up for me. We had a lot of fun having a sing along and met other hotel guests as a result.

We have just returned from a great 3 day break in the Excellent Mill Park Hotel.
Our Accommodation was superb and very good value for money.
The hotel reception area is busy yet still spotless. The ladies at reception were patient, efficient and very helpful.
Our Breakfast and Dinners were of the highest standard and tastefully presented on large plates.
Our bedrooms were large very well serviced

Our second visit...and still totally impressed.
Incidentally we were only a short drive from the magnificent beaches at Rossnowlagh and Bundoran..

Thank you Manager
Davidson

We booked this weekend directly with the hotel for our anniversary. We stayed from fri to sun. We booked a double superior room, When we arrived they said they had no superior rooms left. We referred the receptionist to the booking, On the booking they had it stated, standard room, On our booking form it said superior room. Anyway she went into the back of the reception area, when she returned she said ok we are going to put you in the executive suite. To be honest i do not believe it was an executive suite as the furniture was worn, the wallpaper dated and the windows were filthy. The corners of the room on the ceiling hadnt seen a duster in a long time. The cob webs were hanging down the ceiling walls. We had also requested a non-smoking room. We didnt get that either. You could clearly smell the smoke in the room. At night it was worse. Because it was on the ground floor and next the car park area the noise of people passing by shouting and singing was terrible. We never slept a wink, we kept getting woken out of our sleep. The next morning we had a buffet breakfast it was pretty average. The staff in the restaurant were quite nice and seemed very helpful.
There was one good point to the whole stay, the food was very good but i have to say very dis-organised. I asked for apple juice and they said they didnt have any so. i then requested a mineral water instead. Both came, by two different waitresses. What can i say. I wont be back iam afraid.

really good hotel and value for money

we went there first weekend in February for a weekend away. overall we were very pleased with the hotel and the price - real vaule for money

the hotel is really nice and a good location - about 10mins walk to donegal town. the rooms are large, clean and very nice - just remember to ask for non-smoking if that is your preference

The breakfast is first class - self service and plenty of food

The staff are very friendly

The leisure centre is small but very good and again very clean with nice staff again

We ate in the hotel one night the food was just ok but overall I would go back again and definately recommend the hotel

:-)

My wife and i stayed in the mill park a few days into the new year for one night. We booked on the hotel website and got a rate of 110 e for b&b .We asked for the heat to be on in the room for our arrival and also asked at check in. When we got to the room no heat so had to phone to get it turned on.Every time we stay this always happens. We had a lovely meal in the cafe bar,the sea food chowder is bril.Breakfast next morning was good but tables were not properly set ,teaspoons missing no spoon to eat cornflakes,we noticed people including ourselves lifting things from other tables. They also advertise open turf fires none were lite.We are fans of The Mill Park hotel but these small things should not happen.

  • Liked — Big rooms great food
  • Disliked — No heat on arrival .no log fires lite
