“disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2008

Stayed here for three nights with husband and three children. When I saw the family room I was very disappointed, shabby walls, fingerprint marks, and an array of beds everywhere! bathroom nice and clean but only had a shower and no bath. Evening meals wonderful, but breakfast a disaster! served from 7.30 til 10am but inedible by 8 o'clock as cooked all at once and left to rot for the next few hours, only edible part was the toast brought straight to the table. Leisure centre okay, but generally disappointing, wont be back

We stayed in the mill park hotel on a saturday night and what a treat, eat in the restaurant upstairs and its great for people watching and you get the music also, a girl with a great voice singing and the guy on the piano. The food was very good and you where not rushed out even at 10.30pm... the service was also good and the girls on reception where always smiling and cheerful, a rare thing now days!

The swimming pool was a nice bonus and i wish we had more time there to enjoy all the spa treats.

Shall be back again soon to experience friendly service, good food and shopping in magees too!

well done millpark hotel, a great donegal hotel

Hotel grounds nice - and food fab, but thats is where the good points end with this hotel. Rooms are shabby and in need of modernisation. Bar staff very slow and kids allowed in bar until all hours of the night. An average hotel if you get a good price, but by no means impressive.

Just returned from a one night stay in Mill Park Hotel for a friend's wedding reception. First impressions of the hotel were lovely, with nice grounds, inviting reception area, friendly staff and very spacious rooms. The meal at the wedding was perfect, and breakfast the next morning was a plentiful buffet. The only downsides were the room was a bit grubby in places and lacked even the small extra of a biscuit with the tea in the room, bar prices were steep but this is the norm in Irish hotels. I feel the price is very steep considering we have just stayed in a lovely hotel in the centre of Edinburgh for two nights, for the price of one night here, on the outskirts of Donegal Town.

  • Liked — Large Bedrooms, lovely reception area
  • Disliked — Noise level in room from entertainment

My husband and I were at this hotel on 3rd May 2008 for a wedding reception. Having left home at 11.30 a.m., been to wedding in Donegal and travelled on to the hotel, were glad to reach it at 3.20 pm. We found the staff to be really friendly, lovely to see in this day and age, people still care! Cosy open fires in lobby - real ones.

The hotel was jam packed as I suppose because of the May holiday weekend and another wedding reception in addition to the one we were attending. The waiting staff were very attentive, serving food on piping hot plates and attending to our every whim. The only down side was that the vegetables were so rock-hard no one could eat them, and also when the coffee/tea were served they could not wait to clear the cups away, so they could go home. They tried to lift them before we were finished, and removed the milk and sugar as soon as the coffee/tea had been served.

However the choice of food was good and different from the usual wedding reception food. Yes I would go back again, and would recommend it to my friends.

Great Night!

On Saturday the 26th we had a family meal in the Mill Park Hotel. In total there were 20 in our group. We had a fabulous night. The food was above the standard of a provincial Irish hotel with great wine and a very professional service. I would strongly recommend to anybody. If the managers read this well done on a great night our only disappointment was the lack of air conditioning in both the restaurant and rooms.

Thanks for a great night.

I have stayed at the Mill Park at least three times now and certainly plan to return. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It is quiet and relaxing in the rooms and usually busy in the bar. I think that is a nice combination. The food in the bar is excellent. There is really no reason to go anywhere else. it is great to go out sight seeing during the day and know you can come home to your hotel and find all that you need. The last time I was there, my friend and I booked a massage. Very reasonable. The staff are nice and accomodating. The last time we stayed there we needed to switch rooms. There was no fuss. We left in the morning and everything was taken care of without any hassle to us. It is a delightful place to stay.

  • Liked — Hazs everything you need in one place.
  • Disliked — There isn't anything I don't like.
