On a tour of Ulster this summer, our stay at Kilcar was by far the best part for me. Better than the giants causeway or the rope bridge at carrick-a-rede were the stunning views at Slieve League, the highest sea cliffs in Europe. I was told about Slieve League by a local man Gerry Lyons who, together with his wife Joanie, run the Dun Ulun guest-house in Kilcar.
Gerry advised us of a specific path on which to approach the cliffs to get the best views. His advise did not disappoint. It is hard to beat local knowledge.
The Dun Ulun guest-house in Kilcar was really great. Great views, great location and Joannie and Gerry could have not have been more helpful.
The guesthouse was clean and warm and there were lots of car parking space available. The solid fuel fire was lighting when we got there and we connected to the 'twitisphere' via the wifi provided while we drank a cup of tea and put our feet up. The food was great and the overall experience was one that wont be forgotten for a long time.
I could not recommend the Dun Ulun guest-house highly enough. We will be back!
