“Great golf courses”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

We played both courses and enjoyed them immensely. The staff are very friendly and a nice pub upstairs in the clubhouse. Other than the Valley course at Portrush, these were by far the best 2 courses for value on our trip of Ireland. We will definitely go back. Nice traditional links courses.

“The supreme test of golf, wonderful hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Just back from Ballyliffin on the Inishowen peninsula on Ireland's north coast. Played the Glashedy course ( as opposed to the Old Course) and can quite honestly say , it was the greatest test of golf I have experienced. I don't have enough time now to give a review that would do the course justice but suffice to say we are already planning a return trip. We had vouchers given to us as presents for the golf and of course, I forgot to bring mine. The staff in the club wouldn't hear of me offering to pay for the round and looking for a refund at a later date. They insisted that I go out and enjoy myself and post the voucher to them at my convenience. Amazing!

Ballyliffin itself, is quite isolated but the roads in Donegal, for the most part, are good. We stayed in the Ballyliffin Lodge, a 4 star hotel, which was fabulous. It has leisure facilities and the staff are obviously trained to the highest standards. The food there was of excellent quality and not too hard on the pocket. All in all, I can't wait to return next year

“Dining experience made for the end of a perfect day.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Spent two nights at Ballyliffin and enjoyed touring around the Inishowen peninsula. Our enjoyment was certainly added to by dining at the Golf Club - we were not playing. The view in the restaurant looking out over the two courses as the shadows got longer was by itself memorable. Our dining experience, from the welcome from the staff, selecting from the menu, enjoying wonderful food and being very happy with the cost, was such that we recommend it without hesitation.

“A great welcome and fabulous food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

We were staying in Ballyliffin for a few days and decided to visit this golf club which we could see from our hotel. We didn't play golf on this occassion - we had a meal in the restaurant - the fresh fisn cooked in light crispy batter is easily yhe best fish I have tasted in many years. The service was excellent and the views over the golf course were amazing. Will definately call again the next time we are in the area.

This is one of the best places on earth to be, forget your troubles and to perfect your golf. The friendly staff and the tasty food from the restaurant all add to making this one of the MUST visit golf courses to visit.
