We stayed in Achill House a Sat Night in June. We were pleased with the accomodation, and the location in Cork is convenient to everything.
We literally walked in the door and we were asked for payment. We still had our bags in our hands!
I booked over the net with my credit card so there was no way we were going to get a free night, she had all my details. Then if we werent paying enough 80 euro single room 120euro double room, there was also a sneaky 10% service charge! No mention of that on the website.
So that really annoyed me.
We were then shown our rooms which were spotless.
The next morning, my friend who was in a room on the first floor was awake from before 8 (Sunday morning) Listening to Helena the proprieter roaring and chatting. So eventually she got up and found the dining room full. Obviously this is her ploy to get people up and out asap. Really takes the biscuit when you have paid full whack for a room and cant even get a sleep in. And we had a late night, Well it was the weekend and we are rarely in Cork!
