“Will be a regular haunt of mine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Ate here recently with friends and although quite busy, they took our number whilst we went for a drink next door in Maynes.- good start.
Lovely menu, great staff and brilliant atmosphere- just what Cork needs. The lemon, ginger and tomato dip is to die for and the courgette spaghetti was a definite hit.

Good value and good staff- Roll on next weekend :)

“Interesting food in nice small taste of the Mediterrean restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

We went with friends last Saturday evening to this nice little restaurant. We have been here before for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the experience is always one we enjoy. The breakfast we would recommend heartily, particularly the breakfast manoushi. The juices are also very delicious. Lunch is good value and provides lots of choice. The evening menu is always of a good standard and provides the basis for a very enjoyable evening. The service is always good, staff are very attentive and their style is informal and chatty and friendly. They provide good descriptions of the food and the wines. Last Saturday night there were four of us so we went for a selection of dishes and shared - it was a sort of tapas way of eating - we all ate from each other dishes. We were all agreed that the Moroccan beef patties were the nicest dish that we ordered. The sweet potato wedges, the honey glazed chicken, the chickpea dishes all met with our strong approval. The Lebanese flat bread didn't catch the approval of all of us and we all loved the chocolate board. With 4 pichets of wine the money damage came to €120 [including tip.] We would recommend this restaurant heartily.

“Orso so so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

This cafe is small but with good management of space and seats about 25. It is a fairly new arrival on the Cork cafe scene and seems to have made its mark already judging by the glowing reviews. I had lunch here recently and was not entirely impressed with the food but plan to return as I love the look of the place and the menu. The menu leans towards the Middle East and I am reminded of Ottolenghi's cafes in London. I tried the Manoushi- Lebanese flatbread with spicy beef, peppers, fortina cheese and spring onion. This was served on a slab of wood and looked well but was underspiced and a little bland and at €8.90 somewhat overpriced. I look forward to trying other dishes e.g. sweet potato and goat's cheese tart and stuffed roast aubergine. Service was friendly but somewhat wayward (had to ask for water twice and gave up and ordered coffee- which was good coffee). I wish this new enterprise well and will return.
