“Rumley’s Open Farm-a great day out for young and old alike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Situated 5 min from Cork City, Rumley’s is ideal for those who don’t want to travel too far for some family fun or fun with friends! My boyfriend and I arrived about 2pm and enjoyed some delicious Ballycotton chowder with tasty brown bread for lunch followed by divine chocolate cake. Rumley’s coffee shop has a great selection of quiche, salad, sandwiches, cakes and other baked goodies in a bright setting. There are also picnic areas if you decide to pack a picnic. The farm is well laid out with lots of signage and information on the animals. The Open Farm has an array of native and exotic animals that all seem well cared for and happy. The alpacas and pigs were my favourite. My boyfriends favourites were the wolf pups and the highland bull. As well as the wonderful animals, there is so much fun for kids including a go-karting, crazy golf, a model farm and the tractor carriage. We couldn’t leave without a visit to the farm shop to buy some delicious steaks for dinner!

“Good family day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

A great day out for the whole family, lovely cafe, playground great and cycle track for kids fun.Lots of birds which the small ones found very boring. Found some of the animals homes a bit rustic and the wolves kinda broke my heart in their home.Other than that kids enjoyed it .

“Great Day Out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

Myself and my girlfriend brought her two nieces here last week. I was pleasently surprised. Great variety of animals, great facilities, plenty to keep the kids entertained, decent food after. It had everything we needed! Also it was very reasonably priced.

“Very good visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

We decided to visit Rumleys on my grandsons 4th birthday. We were a party of six, with two young teenagers and everyone had a great time. We were very lucky with the weather, which really made the day. They all enjoyed the variety of animals and the playground was a great hit, especially the go-Karting. However the zipwire was taken over by one young girl and her family, despite a notice saying one go per child. While we were waiting we saw her take a baby about 10months old on the zipwire with her, it was very dangerous. We came back to it three times and still couldn't get a turn. I eventually had to ask her to let them on. This was very ignorant behavior and shouldn't have been tolerated, as it is a great attraction for the kids. It was very unfair on all the polite children waiting patiently for their turn. It may warrant a little watchful eye every now and then by the staff.
We had tea and cake in the restaurant afterwards, it was nice but a little on the pricey side. We had bought drinks in the shop on arrival as well and found there were no bins to dispose of cans and bottles on the way around the farm. There are tables near the playground so a picnic could be enjoyed on a nice day. Overall we had a great afternoon and the Farm is near the city and well worth a visit.
