We've just returned from a three-week trip including stops in England, Wales and Ireland. We stayed in some rather dreary B and Bs, some that were adequate, and the Garnish House, which appears to be in a class by itself. We were greeted at the door by the gracious Johanna who "convinced" us that we needed some refreshment and brought us a tray laden with freshly baked scones, soda bread, cakes, jams and coffee and tea. A delightful start to a delightful two night stay. The room was comfortable and loaded with "extras" that we weren't finding in other B and Bs - free internet connection, telephones, fresh fruit, a real, live bath tub! Breakfasts are absolutely out of this world - not just the same old Irish fry, but omelets, pancakes, porridge with Bailey's and brown sugar, fresh fruit and yogurt, cheeses. It was almost an embarrassment of riches. Yes, this B and B was the most expensive of any of the others we used during the three-weeks, but it was a charming respite during a whilrlwind tour and very much worth it. We hope to be back when the U.S. dollar goes a little bit further than it does now.
Hats off to the Garnish House!!
