“Great value for money with the breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

Have been here several times for breakfast because its great value for money! I always get the mini breakfast and alter the menu as I don't like puddings and its never a hassle for the staff. Hot food on the plates with plenty of hot toast to go with it. I also Always have coffee and the only gripe if I had to have one would tht it would be nice to be offered a top up!! Overall great food great price and the staff are a pleasant bunch who seem happy in their work !! Will be back:)

“fantastic find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Had to go to the other side of Cork City and on our way home Hubby decided to call to the Silver Key for something to eat as he had heard of great reviews. What a great place, the ambiance of the surrounding was cosy and lovely and warm. We sat down and perused the menu which had a great selection. I went for the oven baked chicken and hubby went for the steak. The chicken came out and it looked so appetising. it was a breast of chicken on garlic potatoes and melting cheese on top, it also came with chunky chips and a lovely side salad, hubby the same with his steak. The flavour was fantastic and i would highly reccommend this bar restaurant for food.

“Only average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

Went here for bar food on a Friday night. Menu looked promising but when the food arrived it was only average. Biggest disappointment was that the burger seemed to be a frozen burger I would nave expected a home made burger from a place with a full restaurant kitchen

“Friday Dinner in Ballinlough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Visited this popular southside Cork bar on restaurant on a busy Friday evening in Febuary with my dad. We both opted for barfood downstairs rather than going to the upstairs restaurant. The menu is very large with a good range and prices are reasonable. Staff are quick and friendly and the atmosphere in the bar is nice. Food was a bit of a disapointment though, we opted for the burger main course and also Monkfish goujons. My burger arrived on a plate with nothing else only small rakemkin of Pepper sauce. There were two small patties like you would get in McDonalds, thought I was getting a home made beef burger as the menu does say steak burger. For the price charged wasn't very happy, both came with salad and fries which were ok. Overall prob wouldn't go back as there is good choice in the area at better prices including Douglas.
