“Good location but overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

We stayed at this hostel for 2 nights and paid 46 € per night for "double room". Double room was a small room with bunk bad and the bottom bed is bigger one. The facilities are poor, kitchen is dirty and nothing is complimentary when you want to cook for yourself (salt, oil, absolutely anything). Breakfast is not incuded in price and it costs 3 € and includes tea, coffee, juice, bread, butter, jam and some cereals. The reception staff is good and helpful. The biggest advantage is the location cause it's just like 5 min to the bus and train station and the city centre...

I certainly had a great time with the people staying here, as most hostel experiences I've had. That said, I found the personnel, in particular two of them, quite rude and disrespectful. They know who they are, and you will know who they are as well. If they don't don't like their job, welcomming people from around the globe and answering their needs, then QUIT!
The place was often dirty by the end of the day or even early in the morning. Trash and food were not thrown away. I was expecting the rats to come live with us at some point. The location could not be any better. Bus tour office down the street, near down town, definitely worth your wallet for a short stay. Loved Cork!

Room Tip: Take a room that a shower and no roomate.

Stayed there just for one night. Our room was fairly small but the beds were comfy. All the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The prices are unbeatable. Location is alright when you've got a car.

2 loud mouthed & crudely unfunny cretins in the kitchen speaching off at some hapless American woman who they believed they were entertaining when I stayed here on the 5/6 of November; guitaring pony-tailed types & I think one of them was some kind of 'staff', they were joined by a professional Australian type who was sliming around the place: puke, I managed a slice of toast & a drop of tea: any more and I would have heaved.

The hoste is really good, the kitchen is big and the room are really clean and well organized. the only problem was that the heater doesn't work and was really cold. Breackfast in the morning for only 3 euro and a really good laundry service!

This place is filthy. I've seen more inviting pavements because the mattresses are like stone! The pillows are like wafer thin. The bathrooms are completely rotten and not even worth the 14 euro per night. Stay in a proper hotel that doesn't have a phycho blonde manager and some milosovic type dude barking orders like its the serbian war. Very steep walk up to the place too. Wouldn't recommend this place as a dog kennel.
