The hotel needs serious updates.
If they start with changing the curtains and carpet, they will be at least 70% there.
The color of the Capet reminds me of a very old sweater you see in a Salvation Army store that you know it will continue to be there for the next decade at least.
The curtain is absolutely atrocious to the point that it is almost depressing.

Dear LittleBeeRubin,

Thank you for taking the time to review us on Tripadvisor. We are sorry you didn't like the colour of our carpets or curtains in the bedrooms. We have started a bathroom refurbishment this year which is nearly completed and will take your comments on curtains and carpets on board. We hope to welcome you back in the future.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

My sisters had stayed at the Isaacs several years ago and found it clean and convenient. We returned this year and had a clean and well-amenitied two bedroom unit, one of which faced the noisy street which initially made sleep a little challenging. Wish I had thought of earplugs, but exhaustion from the cross-Atlantic trip made up for that in a hurry. The staff was super accommodating, the food in the restaurant delicious, the room rate reasonable, and I don't think you could beat the location for convenience. It was just as easy to walk to the quays and shopping/nightlife as it was to drive out of the city from the nearby parking. An observation, not a criticism, is that their website gives directions to the hotel that are more consistent with someone who may be more familiar with the area. If you don't have a GPS, you may be well advised to do a Mapquest or similar search BEFORE you go!

Room Tip: If you are porting heavy suitcases, get a first or second floor room. Consider ear plugs!

Stayed for one night in July, last minute booking. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and sleep quality was good. The outside area with the waterfall is ideal for sitting down sinking a few pints before heading out on the town.

We have just returned from a Dublin escape to Cork and visited Isaacs Hotel for the first time. What a lovely surprise! Stunning waterfall feature made us feel we had stepped out of reality into a Jurassic Park film set! Such a memorable relaxing setting for one of the best Cappuchinos we've ever had. The Dining experience was wonderful too - three absolutely delicious well presented courses in a friendly, rustic ambient candlelit surrounding. We went for a short walk into the centre afterwards to burn off some of those calories! Spacious bedrooms with a comfortable bed. We'd recommend this hotel to anyone! There's even self catering for those independant guests.

My wife and I stayed here last week and were given a room above the street . The noise was so bad I didn't sleep a wink all night. Traffic and passing revellers were heard all night. There was no airconditioning so it was quiet clammy. This made it more difficult to sleep

Room Tip: Get a room off street if possible

Right in the heart of Cork, well kept and clean
The restaurant is well laid out, staff are attentive, but the food, it is one of the best kept secrets in Cork. Had dinner and breakfast here and they are the best I have had anywhere. I am shocked that it hasn't got a Michelin star. Would recommend to anyone
Lounge is large and informal and good for the Craic.
Waterfall feature is very good but its the staff that make the place

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the street, quiet and comfortable
