Here we are talking a 2 star out of town centre hotel belonging to the accor group.
A little tricky to find from the main route and would benefit from improved route signage. Exterior is 80's anonymous.
Car park adequate for hotel capacity.
foyer a little dated but not 'tired'. Reasonably welcoming.
Desk staff polite/friendly depending on individual. All adequately helpful. All non-Irish.
Room slightly larger for a hotel in this category. Views poor.
shower room average size but above average in terms of fittings and lighting. Reliable provision of towel/gels/soap.
Tea/coffee facilities. Cleaned and replenished daily.
Bed on a comfort rating I rate this at 6/10.
Hall-ways well-lit with light decor. carpet similar, of heavy traffic quality. Fittings in keeping with this category of hotel. Overall cleanliness excellent.
Bar/restaurant. A little canteenish. Drinks bar a little perplexing, as stock has to be retrieved from a store-room to the rear on an on-demand basis. Slightly above-average pricing with below-average range. Food range poor.Quality satisfactory as with pricing. No other food oulets within walking distance.
Position good for airport, relatively poor for other amenities.
Overall, for business travellers at the budget end of the market this hotel is slightly above average within the range. For the leisure traveller the principal question will be of 'VFM'. I rate this Ibis as 'average'. For most, own transport is essential.
As for myself, I would be happy to use this hotel as a 'stop-over' before heading to another destination.
I hope this has been of some help.
