Here we are talking a 2 star out of town centre hotel belonging to the accor group.
A little tricky to find from the main route and would benefit from improved route signage. Exterior is 80's anonymous.
Car park adequate for hotel capacity.
foyer a little dated but not 'tired'. Reasonably welcoming.
Desk staff polite/friendly depending on individual. All adequately helpful. All non-Irish.
Room slightly larger for a hotel in this category. Views poor.
shower room average size but above average in terms of fittings and lighting. Reliable provision of towel/gels/soap.
Tea/coffee facilities. Cleaned and replenished daily.
Bed on a comfort rating I rate this at 6/10.
Hall-ways well-lit with light decor. carpet similar, of heavy traffic quality. Fittings in keeping with this category of hotel. Overall cleanliness excellent.
Bar/restaurant. A little canteenish. Drinks bar a little perplexing, as stock has to be retrieved from a store-room to the rear on an on-demand basis. Slightly above-average pricing with below-average range. Food range poor.Quality satisfactory as with pricing. No other food oulets within walking distance.
Position good for airport, relatively poor for other amenities.
Overall, for business travellers at the budget end of the market this hotel is slightly above average within the range. For the leisure traveller the principal question will be of 'VFM'. I rate this Ibis as 'average'. For most, own transport is essential.
As for myself, I would be happy to use this hotel as a 'stop-over' before heading to another destination.

I hope this has been of some help.

Ibis Cork East is the typical Ibis chain hotel but room was much larger than usual at Ibis. Hotel is not so easy to find with the old Ibis-provided map, but now the map has been updated and now it should be easier to find; a large car parking is available for free. Crew is kind and very professional. Restaurant is ok but a bit more expensive than others in town. The city centre is accessibe by the motorway, but this hotel is not reccomended for who wants to visit the city centre, as it must be reached by car. Overall, a pleasant stay

Spent two days at the Ibis on a stag weekend , rooms excellent , shower spot on , breakfast average.

Only a couple of problems hotel bar only open from 1pm to 12:30 am , and when you come in after twelve thirty there are no snacks or drinks available , not even a drinks machine.

Hotel staff seemed to be mostly european and looked quite miserable in their daily dutys .

There are no other buildings , shops or other hotels near this place , taxi ride into Cork costs you about 15 euro , taxi drivers were forever asking why we booked this place so far off the beaten track , but two mile on a map doesn't seem that far until you realise it takes you 10-15 minutes in a taxi.

Cork itself was a bit of a let down , having been to Dublin last year and being welcomed with open arms in pubs and clubs , I have never been turned away by so many doormen in all my life , yes stag parties always get bad press but we were in groups of three and four , the locals were more rowdy than us , it got so bad that whatever size group approached a bar , we would be asked where all of the others were and point blankly refused entry.

So pubwatch works here , for some anyway , we should have realised they didn't want our custom when on the first night while watching a live band , someone was ejected for doing a really bad air-guitar while dancing , that was reardons opposite the washington bar.

So just to recap , the Ibis is ideal if you want somewhere quiet with ample parking spaces and excellent rooms , and you like to be in bed before midnight.

I would just like to say that I found the Ibis hotel in Cork excellent place to stay, the room was fabulous it was very spacious, the bathroom a little sparse but overall thought service and standard of the hotel to excellent. Staff were friendly and courteous. the only disadvantage i would have is that if you do not have your own transport it is a €10 taxi fare into Cork City.

Considering the beauty of the area, and the wealth of hotels and B&Bs on offer, why did I stay here? No idea! It is a long way out of town, so hopeless if you don't have a car (and even then, a dull drive to Cork, with limited parking). The hotel itself is in bad need of a facelift, the rooms being stuffy, the foyer dated, in short, nothing to recommend it. The staff all seem to be French - not a problem per se, but no Irish welcome.
