“The bells!”

Beautiful tower. We didn't have time to go inside but we were glad we made the walk up to see it. I must do for next time.

A Must See if you are in Cork and are not afraid of stairs....They will lead you to the best view of the city.

“So much more fun than I expected!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014 via mobile

Great craic, and a typically irish tourist attraction, by which I mean that there were parts you wondered they got away with!
Ringing the bells was very good fun and they have a song list to follow. Good to know you're inflicting half of cork to your own rendition of freres Jacques! Then you can climb to the top and look out over cork but the stairs get smaller as you get further up so you wouldn't want to be of a nervous disposition... Or wide.
The highlight for me was when one set of stairs ended you squeeze in next to the bell (wearing ear defenders in case someone downstairs rings it!) and have to climb basically out a hole onto the next set of steps.
Really felt like we were trespassing to be honest! Then you get a great view of cork from the top. Well worth a fiver.

“Ringing the Bells!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

106 steps up to the top of the tower, but if you aren't into all that climbing, you can still ring the bells! (they can be rung from the first floor) Each floor on the way up has something to see, whether it be the clock gears or the bells themselves. Beautiful view from the city once you have reached the top. Only note of caution: there is a sticky bit to climb through to get to the top tier. Up a ladder, under a beam, through an opening to the rest of the stairs. There are plenty of handles to help you through but if you are super tall (I am 6' and was ok…just bumped my head once…or twice) or have mobility issues, something to be aware of.

Recommend it for the view and sheer pleasure of ringing the beautiful bells!
