“Good value for special offers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2011 via mobile

We stayed in a family room( twin room- interconnecting)booked at the last minute. Service, staff and rooms were great. The downside is when I wanted to go there for the second time, the quote was a bit high. It's very good value for money if on special offer.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for your recent review of The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Cork. I am glad you and your family enjoyed your stay here in February 2011. The interconnecting rooms offer families the flexibility to have plenty of rooms for kids toys etc in the room. They also allow parents to have adequate privacy & supervision of the children is easy with interconnecting doors which can remain open or closed depending on the families individual requirements.

Its a real pity you did not stay with us on your return to Cork but a great way of getting discounts is to book well in advance on our own website or by calling direct.

Kind Regards,
Mark Moyniihan

I stayed at this location in March and overall had a good experience. At 165.00 USD ( tax included) a night I did not find it to be a great value, but reasonable.
The good
The hotel is clean and well maintained
The fitness center has a variety of aerobic equipment and offers a separate weight room
Breakfast is good and offers variety
The people are friendly

The not so good:
-The rooms are much too hot, when I pointed it out I got a fan but it only helped a limited amount.
-Road noise, ask for a room in the back
-The location is near a strip mall and industrial park not in Cork
-Waiting for a check in the restaurant/pub is a painfully slow event
-Never received my requested wake up calls.
- Expect a small flood on the floor when you use the shower.

Following my stay, the manager made a special effort to contact me and apologize for the missed wake up calls. He this totally on his one with no contact from me regarding the issue. It was a a very impressive approach to management.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the road noise.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for reviewing our hotel on tripadvisor. I was delighted to see that you gave us all 5 marks!! It is so easy to get to Cobh in particular as the hotel is such a short drive. And fear not if you dont have a car, the train will take you there in 15mins. Its even faster to go to Cork City Centre. Hopefully you got to see the famous English Market whilst on your last stay. If not come back again soon.

Should you not be in Cork I am sure you will find one of our sister properties as we have 13 around the country.

Wishing you a pleasant day.

Kind Regards

We stayed here for 2 nights on a special offer deal. A nice place and a great location.
The rooms are very spacious and very well equipped. The food was very good, a buffet breakfast and the dinner in the evening was very good also. Staff were friendly and always on hand. Cork city is also about 10 min drive away, but we found parking difficult.
We would definately stay at this hotel again.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for the great review you left with us recently. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. We boast 300 complimentary car parking spaces, which is one of the many benifits of the location of our hotel. Hope you got to enjoy the hydrotherapy swimming pool whilst here. I will pass your kind compliments to our Chef.

We look forward to welcomming you back to the Radisson again soon.

Kind Regards,

We stayed for 3 nights on a package deal and had a excellent experience. Some recent expierences had me thinking that the "hotelier" had been replaced by the developer and that getting your money off you with little in the way of real hospitality in return was now the norm. The staff ast the Radisson Blu in Little Island proved me wrong! There had been a mix up with the booking but that was sorted out prior to arrival and when we did check in, it was again apologised for and we received a room upgrade which was very much appreciated. (A special note of thanks to Jenny & Orla for sorting that out for us). Every single member of staff including the Duty manager went out of their way to say hello and ask if we were enjoying our stay. A special thanks to Piotr (sorry about the spelling if thats wrong) in the dining room who looked after us really well and sorted out room service for us (at our request) when our 7 month-old decided to try and shatter every glass in the place with his high pitch wailing.

The company I work for uses this hotel regularly for meetings and now I know why.

If you want a hotel that will look after your needs in the Cork City area, I would be surprised if you find anywhere better.

We have stayed here numerous times and found it mostly excellent , just back from weekend break where we were harrassed by a drunken man in the lobby as we sat there having a few beers on the friday.
I reported this to the hotel and have not heard anything yet.
this fella decided to join us everytime he went to the toilet and i could handle him but my elderly parents didnt want to make a scene so we ended up going to bed early , which was disapointing as we had spent day shopping and looked forward to a few beers and grub in the lobby seating area as we always sit there
