My new husband and I ventured down to Cork during our honeymoon a few weeks ago. This was our first stop on the journey and we were with the incredible Fergus and Eucharia Hannon for six nights.
Neither my husband or I are strangers to bed and breakfasts, and this was BY FAR the most welcoming, warming experience we have ever had with both hosts and location.
Westwood is in the heart of Blarney, and easy enough to find. The home is gorgeous, inside and out, with a beautiful view of Cork city in the distance. We were accommodated at every possible turn, whether we needed to be or not. Fergus and Eucharia truly went out of their way to do whatever they could to make our stay wonderful!
A breakfast menu was available, and we were even leant the use of their GPS for a time as we worked our way around Cork. Each morning we were able to go over a map or route with Fergus in order to get to our destination with ease!
The two of them, without even trying, made us feel like part of the family. They would light a little fire, or ask us to join them in a beverage in the evening if we were playing a game of chess, etc. We had many wonderful evenings talking to them about their family or life in general and always came away with a happy feeling!
You would be missing a gem if you drove by Westwood. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else again should I return to Cork in the near future. We were also recommended an amazing place to eat just around the corner from the B&B, called Blair's Inn. The couple was kind enough to call ahead one evening without being asked to book us a table! Not to be missed!
All in all, big, comfortable rooms to come back to each night, and happy little Jack Russells to greet you each morning!
All are warm and the same size, with same sized bathrooms and amenities. All have a wonderful view...
