“Fabulous B&B with that extra touch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

We were attending a friends wedding in Glandore and stayed at the Lis Ardagh Lodge for 2 nights. From the moment we contacted Carol & Jim we were greeted with friendly efficiency. Our booking was done online and Carol provided us with all the details we needed. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and shown to a very large ensuite room, which was decorated in lovely country style. We had amazing views across the hills and to the sea from our windows. The gardens are also somewhat of an attraction and have been beautifully landscaped by Jim. There is even a jacuzzi and sauna out on the decking for guests to use.

The room comes with breakfast included, with a choice of delicious treats. We had the full Irish breakfast each morning and definitely weren't left hungry. The B&B is just up the hill from the town centre which you can walk to. The service we received was absolutely perfect. They don't crowd around you but are there just when you need them. They make you feel like a welcomed friend, so much so that Carol even drove us to Glandore on the Friday night so we could meet our friends for a drink.

We would recommend Lis Ardagh to anyone who is looking for spacious accommodation in West Cork that comes with a big smile, some friendly banter, a great location with good amenities and best of all at a very reasonable price.

Many thanks Carol & Jim for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed here while visiting Ireland for a wedding recently and could not have been happier with the standard of accomodation. The bedroom was spacious, quiet and clean and the breakfast was delicious and more than substantial to set us up for the day. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and provided us with information and conversation. It was very reasonable in terms of price and the only thing I would improve would be the length of our stay which was far too short. Many Thanks

We stayed at Lis-Ardagh last week after attending a wedding in West Cork. The owners were warm and friendly without being intrusive. We had a beautiful room with a great bathroom and shower. The breakfast was delicious and I am not going into detail as we endorse everything said by the previous reviewer.

A big thank you to Carol and Jim for their hospitality, sharing their beautiful home, the tasty breakfast and for your extra kindness in driving us to collect our car from the wedding venue on the other side of the village.

The quiet but not too secluded location provided the perfect antidote to the rigours of a local wedding reception the previous evening. Fantastic views and beautifully kept garden, rounded off a most pleasurable breakfast experience - the Full Irish and more. Stayed in what was described as one of Lis-Ardagh's "smaller" rooms, which still dwarfed many an other B&B (and was also much better appointed). The only drawback - we didn't stay long enough, although I'm sure we'll be back.

Many thanks and highly recommended.

Spent a night here on an impromptu visit to Ireland. Warm welcome. Large bedroom with everthing we needed, including a big, comfortable bed and great bathroom. Breakfast was out of this world, and considering we were the only people staying, there was plenty of fresh fruit, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, cereals, toast, soda bread, croissants etc and then the biggest Irish breakfast for my husband and homemade pancakes with maple syrup for me. Hostess knew her area well and was full of advice and tips. Lovely gardens, a gym, sauna, hot tub etc. Just a few yards up from the village, where there were pubs to eat at and lovely walks.
