“Dump”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

I was booked in here for an overnight stay while working in the South West region, my bed was damp and room smelled of a mix of damp and bleach. I slept fully clothed under a top blanket as the bed seemed too much of a risk to get into. The breakfast is also dripping in grease. Never again. Don't do this to yourself.

stayed here last summer for 4 nights. there was 5 of us, my wife an 3 boys, age 6, 4, and 16 mths. its a bit far out from town centre and i woudlnt walk it anyway. the rooms are tatty and dated. tv is old with not many chanels. BUT you dont spend much time there anyway.

the staff were so helpful and friendly,Buffet breakfast a must! plenty of food and great service for coffee n toast. Food in the restaurant not great tho, so we ate from the bar menu(included in our package)

Had a kids club which my 2 eldest loved and we used a babysitter on 2 occasions which was great. Pool is lovely as are the pool staff.
Cant fault this place on much and would stay here again

If you want 2 ask about it I dont mind

Room Tip: room was so hot at night. get a ground floor and close to the pool as they are newer.

I was recently given a present of a full body massage & facial. I did not stay in the hotel itself but the spa was very nice. The reception/waiting area was very welcoming and comfortable, the treatment rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated and smelled so good. Noelle was very pleasant and friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed both treatments especially the facial, my skin still looks great after 4 days. The products used were Dermalogica which I had never used before and Noelle assessed my skin before choosing the one most suitable and gave me some samples to take home, always a plus!! They have a whole range of different treatments available that I will definately be back to try.

I am just back from a two night stay at this hotel, when we arrived to the hotel first impressions were great. As we walked to our room 318 u could feel it was getting colder and colder, there was no heating on in the room, no toilet roll or towels very dull dreary room. Went to reception to ask for heating to be turned on she said it was turned on that morning and would send someone up to fix it, that's fine went bk to room later still was freezing went bk to reception the girl I spoke to then was very smart and told me the heating does not come on until 5pm and she would send up an electric heating so after further complaining we finally got moved to room 501 which was gorgeous it was like going from a 1 star hotel to a 5 star, a few other people we spoke to in the hotel also moved rooms because of the cold...Food was very nice in bar and the restaurant and good price too...

We stayed two nights Sunday and Monday. The Restaurant was closed so we only had bar food which was very poor. I had the pasta dish which was very bland and the only ingredient seemed oil and cream. Despite eating little I had an upset stomach for the next two days which definitely was a result from that dish. My friend ordered steak (medium) and got it well done. She also described it as poor in taste and it seemed to us, whoever was on duty in the kitchen that night couldn't care less.
The room was good value for money.
Staff wasn't particularly friendly or attentive. We handed the remote control to reception (as it needed new batteries) and never got it back. Which wasn't a big deal but just didn't help to make the experience any better. Leisure centre was fine though. If it hadn't been for the food I might recommend staying there if you get a good deal. Location is good too and breakfast is above average compared to many other hotels. But stay away from the food in the bar!!

We stayed in the hotel for a weekend break, with two your young kids, This weekend would would not have gone so well only for the friendly and helpfull staff of the hotel. The only other time I experience customer level to this standard was in a 5 star hotel. An example was when the manager went out of his way to find us a seat in the bar after we just arrived for a bite to eat with baby and young toddler.

Room Tip: Try and get a ground floor room, as there is no lift to the second floor
