We arrived at the Cliffs of Moher in the pouring rain. After parking the car, we put on our rain gear and headed for the cliffs. It was a relatively short walk and you pass a few souvenir shops along the way. When we made our way to the first view, we were slightly disappointed due to the fog. Much to our patience, the fog slowly cleared away (as the rain stopped) and we ended up with a breathtaking view of the cliffs. We made our way up to the viewing platform on the left and enjoyed the walk - it was relatively easy. The further you went up, the more beautiful the view became. It was simply stunning. As we made our way down, we saw the fog lifting even more and didn't hesitate to make our way towards O'Briens Tower. The views were spectacular. My 5 year old and I went all the way up to the top of the tower (a short few flights of narrow wet steps) and took in the scenery. It was a bit rainy and very much windy up there, but it was nice to say we did it (I think it was four Euro's for the both of us). After enjoying the view for some time, we went back down the ramp (vs the stairs) and were able to enter the Visitor Center much more easily. Inside, they had a walking tour of the history of the area which was interesting and a short video - 3D like at the end - which was pretty cool. They had a very nice gift shop where we picked up our normal souvenirs. We had pre-purchased our tickets in advance online (it included parking) and it was a breeze. We saved money and it was simple. All in all, the Cliffs were beautiful to see and we will certainly go back if we are in the region.
