Four of us travelled some way to eat at the Hotel on an a la carte voucher deal which I'd purchased knowing of their reputation from quite some time back. On arrival I presented my voucher at reception and we were directed to restaurant, seated and given a la carte menus. Whilst browsing these, waitress arrived to exchange menus for card printed a la carte menus which basically featured typical 'pub grub'.Three of us ordered the prawn starter which had a limp salad garnish and sat on a soggy muffin, the other mushroom starter had a larger garnish, discoloured and limp with a ??? dressing.Main course steak pie was very good but veg was tasteless and overcooked.Aberdeen angus burger was overcooked and chewy in a kaiser bun which fell apart. My fajitas dish arrived chicken on a bed of sizzling onions & peppers accompanied by a single bowl of mild grated cheese mild salsa, cream and almost warm tortillas. No gaucamole or fajita seasoning but nevertheless proved to be quite nice chicken wraps Asked waiter for brown sauce and mayonnaise brought ketchup too interested in watching premiership football on tv from reception which seemed to be staff meeting area. Poor eating experience Poor waiting staff not attentive seemed not interested could do with training Poor value might have been better at local pub. So disappointed and certainly would not recommend..
