“Friendly staff and spacious room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

I stayed here on a weekend to attend a wedding at the nearby Cameron House Hotel in Loch Lomond. This was my first time in Scotland and I was very impressed by the friendliness of the Scottish people, as exemplified by the wonderful staff at this hotel.

It cost £29 to get to the hotel by taxi from Glasgow International Airport. Upon arrival at the hotel at 10pm, due to a mix-up of the wedding party booking, there was no record of my booking. I was dismayed to hear that the last room has just been sold but the staff were flexible in offering me a room vacated early. As there was nothing else for miles around (and it would have been a £50 taxi ride back to Glasgow city centre), I was very relieved. The staff also rang the pub next door to ask them to serve me dinner despite a 10pm kitchen closing time. The next morning, a delicious, full hot breakfast at this pub cost £8.50. Vegetarian sausages and different types of eggs could be requested.

The room was very spacious with ample storage space and a large, comfortable double bed. The en-suite bathroom and room itself were very clean. The floors were quite thin though as someone complained from the room downstairs when I was walking around unpacking. I felt compelled to tiptoe afterwards which was stressful. My room was facing the road so it was quite noisy because of the traffic in the morning. The back view was apparently worse: facing a council estate.

There was not much around this hotel and you would need a car to get around. Upon departure, I used a taxi (£3.80) to go to Dumbarton Central rail station and then took a train into Glasgow Central rail station – the total journey took about half an hour.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the front have a bit of noise from the road but a better view than the back rooms which...

We stayed overnight to break up the journey on our way from Yorkshire to Skye. A modern recent build that did everything that was promised by Premier Inn. A good location situated by the main A82 with well lit and safe car parking. A warm and helpful welcome even though we arrived just after midnight. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped including wi-fi. An excellent nights sleep before a short walk to the adjoining pub where there was a wide choice available for breakfast.
I normally stop in high quality hotels, however I will definitely consider using Premier Inn more often in the future.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Scotland. It was a good stop off point. The room was a typical Premier Inn room, comfortable and clean with a friendly and helpful receptionist. We had evening meal and breakfast at the attached Malt & Myre pub. Usual Brewers Fayre food, always find something good to eat. Would stay here again and would recommend it.

Very nice stay, we stayed here for two nights and it was lovely for what we wanted clean, quite. The only down fall was the room smelt slightly of damp ( we didn't mention this to the hotel so they may have moved us) and on the day we were due to check out the breakfast chef didn't turn up so breakfast was cooked by the waitresses. All in all good though.

We were attending a wedding at Loch Lomond and required a hotel for my family for 2 nights. I booked the Premier Inn and on arrival was greeted in friendly manner by the receptionist. The room was a good sized family room with all the facilities and products you would require whilst staying. The room and bathroom was lovely clean and the breakfast at the adjacent Malt and Myre was well stocked with breakfast items. The only critisism would be that although kids eat free for breakfast it is a little on the expensive side.

I always find the staff and breakfast good at every Premier Inn and this one was no exception.
However, not all Premier Inns are the same. Some of the older ones are built without aircon. Recently I stopped at Folkestone (newly renovated but they were too tight to put aircon in which was a disgrace) and the Ayr Prestwick airport one. Both were boiling hot and a good night's sleep was impossible so do yourself a favour and avoid any old Premier Inn in the summer- the buildings heat up like an oven and it just ain't worth it to save a few quid.
Fortunately no such problems with this new Premier Inn which was almost on a par with the Rugely one I stopped at. Nice big rooms and air con which works a treat. I recommend you stop here although I suspect the rooms at the back are the best as further away from the main road.
I only gave it four stars as a room cost me 79 plus breakfast so not cheapo and you expect it to be decent for this price. If I had got a cheap deal I would have given it give stars.
Location is near some tenement housing on the edge of an industrial estate- but don't let that put you off too much as it is only 5 mins from Balloch and Loch Lomond and there is a decent restaurant and drive in Costa next door.

as usual premier inn.. nice room.... nothing happening but just a confortable room for a very good night sleep.

there is a nice restaurant pub in the property < srry do not remember the name exactly > Myre and malt ....
well located suitable for a night halt near loch lomond

only down part was additional cost for breakfast... it should be included in the booking cost of the room.... also no sweets in breakfast were there as was suggested in menu ..

Room Tip: just keep in mind that price dosent include breakfast ..
