Well it wasn't overpriced when we went and I'm tempted to write a whole separate review for the cafe food which was of excellent quality. The village is a must as an insight into how the islanders lived – and until very recently, 1974 being the last. The loom demonstrations and the peat digging really put you back in time. The black houses are decorated so as to feel as if someone was still living there; with the smell of the peat fire and no outside light it must have made for robust residents. And some black houses are available to rent! Makes you wonder what the people complaining were expecting? Rollercoasters?
