“Historic Golf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

Prestwick is a bit quirky but I feel a must play to experience the home of the British Open and one of the oldest golf courses in the world.

“Great golf”

What can you say...they played the 1st British Open here. A little tricky with blind shots but a lovely course. Golf shop staff is great

“Challenging at the beginning and end ! Outstanding golf shop.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

A must-play course given the history etc. Of the courses we played in Ayrshire, I fared poorly here mainly because of the rain, but half our party went round again the following morning prior to us all moving on to Western Gailes. So that's testament enough ! My feeling was that while the start and finish provided intriguing holes, the middle section was a little nondescript, the usual trade off of distance for difficulty. The club house was slightly reserved in manner, but the food very good - and the historic appeal very obvious. The other strong attraction is the pro's shop, expertly run under David Fleming ; a lovely range of products and the staff particularly charming and helpful.

“Fantastic Course”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

Our golf group of 20 played there this May and we loved the entire course - interesting holes, great challenge, wonderful views. An absolute must-play if in the area.

“links perfection”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

forget st.andrews and its ballots. book a round or two at PGC. one of the original links courses in scotland and without doubt one of the best. only about a mile to another links couse PRESTWICK ST NICs and the inland PRESTWICK ST CUTHBERT. both are good tests of golf and when incorporated with the pubs etc in the area makes it and ideal base for a golfing break.
