Stayed for 1 night, would love to have stayed longer but had to get home for our 2 year old daughter.Nights like this are precious to us and after having lunch here last summer, we knew we had to visit again. This hotel is a little gem and fully deserves its 4 star rating. On arrival the reception staff made us feel so welcomed .The reception, bar, and restaurant are immaculate and beautifully decorated .This part of the hotel has undergone major refurbishment in the last couple of years.Contemporary design but very comfortable and not pretencious.
Room:Stayed in original building. (room 17) Massive room and bathroom with free standing roll top bath and walk-in shower.Best shower ever .Huge 7 foot wide bed , extremely comfortable.Room is tastefully decorated but style not in keeping with the public rooms.Only gripe is that better half would like a comfy quilt rather than the outdated furry blankets. You all know what I mean.
Food:Dinner was outstanding, superb presentation and attention to detail.Service was second to none. This hotel was recently awarded the ''Best Informal Restaurant In Scotland '' and fully deserves it.It is also the only restaurant in Ayr with 2 AA rosettes for its quality of food.No compaints.
Breakfast:Fantastic choice, whether continental or a cooked scottish style breakfast . i will add that we had DBB option and you do not pay extra for any cooked breakfast.
Leisure Facilities: We did not use so cannot comment.
Overall we had a fantastic stay.lovely meal and will definitely return. We stayed DBB and found ths fantastic value. We paid £105 booking with Late Rooms.
