We had a wonderful stay at Beaches in Ayr, in fact we extended our stay three more days because it was such a phenomenal place to stay. The breakfast was all you could ever dream of and more. Traditional Scottish breakfast or just bacon and eggs, toast, homemade jams, cereal, juices, granola bars, freshly sliced fruit, tea and coffee. Our room was immaculate and the beds extremely comfortable. The bathroom was complete with any item you might need and the towels were just heavenly plush and soft. The traditional tray of tea and coffee in our bedroom with an added bonus of homemade Scottish shortbread cookies! Delicious to say the least. The garden and their dog Goldie were very enjoyable. We managed to get our dog fix. The hosts, Jan, Calum and Kirsty couldn't have been more helpful to us. Printing our info on train schedules, printing out info on places in Northern Scotland to visit, doing our laundry and telling us to go have fun and it would be on our bed when we returned, running to the info center in town to get us information if they didn't have it and Kirsty running to the mailbox to drop in our postcards. Every morning Jan would bring her laptop down so I could reach our daughter and be able to get updates on my Mom who had had a heart attack at age 95. We just could not have asked for anything more. They were very friendly and Jan has a great sense of humor. We keep saying we're going back next summer to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We hope we'll be able to do it. We have never experienced such a warm welcome and such friendly people and such a great little bit of heaven here on earth at Beaches Guest House in Ayr, Scotland. Thank you Jan, Calum and Kirsty! You will never truly know just how you affected us and our stay. Merle & Howard
