Located in village of Baltasound on the island of Unst, Shetland. Nicely located in centre of Unst & I think it is the only hotel on Unst. Great views aroundabout - especially from lounge bar.
I stayed in semi detached wooden chalet in grounds next to main hotel building. Not new but OK, twin bedded with small shower room. All you need but a bit chilly at night. Locals tell me that rooms in the main hotel building are not so good.
Breakfast nice, cold selection limited but OK. Dinner in lounge pretty standard bar meals with not too much choice. Simple but no problems.
Staff pleasant & will chat to you about local area. Did me a packed lunch.
Vodafone doesn't work here - you have to go up a hill to get a signal.
Good value at £45/night B&B for single occupancy of twin chalet.
A note of caution - I came here on business so I had to stay & it was fine for what I wanted. Otherwise you would have to want to come here for a very quiet relaxing stay, birdwatching, walking on beach or something like that as there isn't much else about.
