This hotel is still a good place to stay but still let badly down by its restaurant.
Breakfast - The staff (in particular one man) still start to clear up 30mins before breakfast closing time, leaving last-minuters wondering where hald the food is. This is not efficiency - it is just bad manners and putting self before customers.
Tomato juice - beware - so old it was fermenting and I had to leave it. Disgusting. Thick bubbling slime on the top is a good clue, guys! TWO days later, new juice was back.
Scrambled egg - OK, but lukewarm,as all other pre-cooked food in steel warmers. On one day, the egg was obviously recycled from the previous day - chopped into bits, and pepper added to disguise the greyness.
Evening meal - we decided to eat at the hotel. Our son joined us/ Being a student, it had to be pizza! We asked for a menu and took it back to the room to decide. When I started to order I was told that the 'pizza machine' (aka a wood-burning oven on the menu) had been broken for 2 weeks and still no sign of it being fixed. So why not told this before I ordered? This led to a lot of driving round and resentment, as eating in Glasgow would have been no problem anyway - we'd been there all day. Had to eventually aet in the room - chips (fries) OK, steak just OK, some bread excellent and some bread very stale.
Would sttill go back but factor out the breakfast cost.
