What a surprise. My family of 2 adults & 2 kids stayed here for 2 nights early December 2007. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was excellent, especially the 3 course kids meals for £5.95. The room was large enough for the 4 of us without being cramped and the place was spotless.

I arrived quite late to the Ramada right by Glasgow Airport. It's like 5 minutes drive from the airport and I hear there is a shuttle service that takes you to and from the airport.

When I went up to my floor I accidentally went into the wrong room, I was assigned one of the studio suites. I didn't realise all the rooms were called Studio suites and mine was number 4.

I went into suite 1 to see only a board table and chairs, a whiteboard, and a door leading to a bathroom. I looked for another door wondering where the bed was. I didn't realise I was staying on the business floor. This room was a conference room.

I managed to find the right room, with bed. The decor is just as it is on the website. My only gripe is that there was an ashtray on the coffee table. I thought how silly that was, then saw a sign next to it saying smoking room. The room had a very stale stench, which really annoyed me because I'm a nonsmoker with asthma. I opened the window only to not be able to shut it again, the receptionist came up to shut it for me though.

My other worry was that my key was able to open other rooms on my floor. i thought it just opened the conference room, but it opened the one right next door. The receptionist mumble something about it being a master key. I didn't feel very safe as I wondered how many of these he'd given out.

Anyway, the decor of the room was nice. The bathroom was OK. Bedding clean.
Even though I'd had the window open, I woke up to the stench of stale smoke again. I couldn't leave the window open at night because it was a little noisy with the motorway not too far off, and planes.

I had booked the Ramada at the airport through the visitscotland service. I was disappointed to read several of the hotel's reviews here after my booking and arrived at the hotel with some trepidation. My fears seemed to be realized when arriving at the airport I was unable to find the shuttle pick-up spot. It is neither signposted nor marked. One apparently needs ESP to discover the shuttle and its pick-up location. To add to the dilemma was the unfriendly driver whose response was, "I don't speak English." You and most of the USA, my friend.

I made sure he gets a nod from me at the reception seeing that my complaint was made in English thus freeing him from the burden of understanding it.

The hotel itself was a pleasant surprise. Perhaps it was the less than spectacular reviews, but the obligatory Eastern European receptionist was friendly and patient and the hotel itself in top form. I gave the restaurant a miss for dinner based on the reviews here, but was happy with my pre-booked breakfast which was delicious and nutritous and cost £5 courtesy of visitscotland. The £59 room was, well, roomy, modern and had a stylish and clean bathroom. The flat screen TV received 12 or so channels and was complemented by a clean and drawer-free decor. I repeat shelves have interestingly replaced any drawers at this hotel. Especially notable was that a sliding mirror which functions as drapes and curtains at the hotel. Indeed a smart and neat touch which adds functionality to the sound and light barrier.
A morning shuttle to the airport (shared with the Travelodge) was free of hassles.

We stayed here overnight, with 8 days parking and had planned to stay again on our return from holiday. We were so disappointed that we cancelled our booking for our return. The room was pretty basic, but the bar was extremely poorly stocked. They could not even supply pineapple juice to go in a Malibu!! When asked if they did not serve pineapple juice at breakfast they said Yes, but that's different. We found the attitude of the bar person - when you could find her - abrasive. However, our biggest problem was with the restaurant, which is situated right beside the front door and reception. We ordered 2 steaks (and paid about £14 each). These were the most ghastly I have tasted in a very long time - dry, tough and to add insult to injury extremely small. We complained about all of the above and were given a discount on the meal - which amounted to the cost of one of the steaks. Would most certainly not stay here again.

We booked a weekend here with an extra payment for a superior room..no such thing!!! Got our money refunded after many letters and phone calls. The room was cold..broken heating. The window was wide open..wouldn't close, pouring rain so somebody came eventually to fix it..then it stayed closed..all weekend. The food was not the best..freezer to Microwave to table..(included in our deal) Shampoo and soap dispensers in room empty as was the coffee. The staff were helpful and gave us a courtesy taxi to make our early flight..very apologetic about all that had gone wrong. Only plus was..near the airport.

I wouldn't stay again
