“OUTSTANDING IN EVERY ASPECT!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2010

We had a wonderful short break here.
Idyllic location.
House oozes charm, space, comfort and antiquity!!
Hospitality and cuisine most generous and lavish.
Most worthy of all tourism awards already granted.
Hosts go the second mile ensuring attention to detail, and every possible comfort.
Very many thanks.

Beautiful country house with gracious hosts with Sue and Mike. When we arrived Sue showed us around the house and explained the breakfast seating times which are limited. Please try Sue's porriage (don't call it oatmeal), and her homemade jams which are incredible! Sue was also willing to explain about which sites to see and to avoid. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom was enormous with a fantastic view of the Pitlochry countryside. Because Scotland has such long days and if you are sensitive to waking up in the light, I recommend a sleep mask. This is a great location to make side trips - we used one day to go to Sterling and another to St. Andrews - other guests were also using the house as their jumping off point. Those nervous about driving should note that the house is off a mile long one lane road. When you arrive at the house you need to open the farm gate yourself and park around back. Room was decorated cute and there were even robes. TV is small and does not have many channels. There is not a large vanity to set your makeup and toiletries on, but Sue provides a few toiletries for you. Would stay here again.

I found this place totally by accident. We wanted an overnight escape and I emailed about 20 B&B's all across Scotland and Sue was the only person so reply. She was really helpful and the booking was sorted in no time. (Including two phonecals for directions because I'd lost the notes I made the first time round).
My partner and I went with our one year old daughter overnight and stayed in a gorgeous room on the ground floor. Perfect for having our daughter with us, we were so near the lounge we could leave her to nap and just keep the doors slightly open to listen for her waking and there was plenty room for the travelcot. Although in the end we all shared the huge bed. With the comfiest big duvet I've ever slept under. The bathroom was stunning with a great big deep bath I could have spent my whole stay in. A dresser and wardrobe so I could unpack everything away with plenty room. The cd and dvd players were great to have at night to just relax in the room. There were lots of extra little touches in the room. You come to expect the little bottle of shampoo but there were so many other little toiletries and biscuits in our room. Even hot chocolate in the tea tray, which for someone who doesn't drink tea or coffee and usually brings her own drinks was such a great surprise. Sue has menu's for most of the local restaurants so we were able to browse and find someone where great from inside where it's warm (we were there in December) as well as Sue's great recomendations. Breakfast in the morning was great, best sausages ever, I couldn't eat it all, we were definately well fed and our daughter loved her porridge. The grounds were amazing too, lovely big garden out window looked over. You can see Atholl Palace all lit up from the lounge too. It was nice being a little out of town, it was so dark when you put out the lights, so quite and peaceful. We had a fantastic nights sleep. We'll be back in a few weeks and I can't wait. The one and only B&B we've ever returned to and we plan to many times more. Highly recommend it!

  • Liked — It felt like a home not a hotel. Such affordable luxury
  • Disliked — I have nothing to complain about, it was fantastic.

We spent the night in a different place every night that we were in Scotland, which was for a week. Our favorite place was the Easter Dunfallandy House in the country convenient to Pitlochery. The home was beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast options were numerous and delicious. Most of all our hostess was a delightful wealth of knowledge of the area and its events. She had a keen ear for our interest and made wonderful suggestions that greatly enhanced our visit. Thank you Sue & Mike! The Alford's from Texas.

  • Liked — The hostess, food, cleanliness, interior beauty and comfort.
  • Disliked — I had to manually open the gate to get into the property.

Stayed here on recommendation of friends, has recently been awarded a five star B and B rating which it definitely merits . In a lovely postion with pleasant large grounds including outdoor table and chairs . Rooms very well fiited out and pleasant residents lounge where afternoon tea is provided on arrival . Excellent breakfast in the large beatifully furnished dining room, this is the best Band B I have stayed in and good value at £37.50 a head .

Pitlochry has many hotels and it seems that every second house is also a bed and breakfast.

Previous experience has shown that other establishments promise much and deliver little. This is not the case here.

My wife and I stayed here for one night in July 2007 and we are keen to return.

Although this large country house is only a few minutes drive up a lane from the town centre it is set in an idyllic country location.

The welcome from the host is warm and genuine and the spacious rooms and lounge alone deserve the five stars from the Tourist Board. Even better value considering the 75 uk pounds a night for the room included an excellent and enormous breakfast for two.
