“Beautiful, peaceful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

A wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the Bothy a room converted from the old out buildings, simply lovely. A few steps into the main house for a fantastic breakfast. Louise and Stuan could not do enough to make sure you have a good stay.breakfast in the conservatory watching the squirrels and birds is lovely and the porridge with cream and brown sugar is delicious. My husband said the full breakfast was one of the best he had ever had. Plenty of places locally to walk and eat

Room Tip: The Bothy was a good choice as you are separate from the main house and have a table and chairs to s...

Just back from a couple of days away in Pitlochry, staying with Struan & Louise was just perfect from start to finish. Accommodation is well presented, ideally located. Breakfast is freshly prepared from local produce, they even prepare the hot smoked salmon in their garden. We will certainly recommend to friends & return ourselves.

I stayed with my mum and dad (who were visiting from Spain!) for 2 nights, and we could not have had a better stay! Lovely location, gorgeous rooms and Struan and Louise were lovely and sooo helpful! Struan even arranged for my dad to go salmon fishing, which was great!! I was very grateful! and we all left very happily after a superb breakfast!! All the boxes were ticked and if I am ever back to Pitlochry, I will not think twice about getting my rooms booked here again!

A big thank you for everything from the Del Amo family!!

Room Tip: We had rooms 6 and 4- both gorgeous and special! you will not be disappointed with any of them!!

Stayed here for one night on Easter Saturday, lovely location, friendly reception from Louise and I, unusually took up her offer of a tea in the lounge and I certainly wasn't disappointed, everything done properly and in lovely surroundings with proper warm fire, first impressions so important. Twin Room 5 was ideal for both of us, spotlessly clean, warm and free wi-fi, bathroom perfect and all the home/local toiletries which add that little bit extra. Breakfast was good and a lovely area to eat in, helped by the fantastic weather. If I had to find a fault and that's being very picky there wasn't a shaver point in bathroom but I plugged it in elsewhere and I didn't see any red squirrels but I won't hold any of those issues against this wonderful B&B! You get the quality you pay for here so will hopefully be back.

Hi DLR37886. Thanks for the great review. I'm pleased you enjoyed yourselves and that the weather held for the last day of your trip. You are right to mention the lack of shaver point. The majority of our rooms do have shaver points but we do need to install them in the remaining shower-rooms. We'll definitely do this at the next significant refurb - we should really have done it last time! Thanks again for the review, Struan

We had such a great time here in Pitlochry. We stayed 2 nights with friends & our 19 month old son. He has never slept through the night when we were away & he did here. Now that is saying a lot! The home & grounds are beautiful and our hosts couldn't be more gracious. Really felt at home here. Can not wait to return.

This was an absolutely wonderful B&B. Louise and Struan were perfect hosts, welcoming us into their home, providing us with excellent advice as to places to go and things to do, and ensuring that we had everything we needed to enjoy our time in their comfortable and stylishly appointed home. Our room was clean and bright, with a very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom, and a shower with really good water pressure. The breakfast room was exceptional, with floor to ceiling glass and views of nicely landscaped grounds and countless feeders for an endless variety of birds and their cherished red squirrels, which entertained us each morning as we dined on the delicious breakfasts. Food choices included a full scottish breakfast, salmon and eggs, and porridge with a touch of whiskey. All of it, as well as the cereal, granola, fruit, and coffee, was superb. The crowning glory was the sitting area, with a constantly lit fire, very comfortable seating, plentiful books and magazines, and (most importantly) a big range of available single malt whiskeys. Louise and Struan were kind enough to offer coffee, tea, beer, and whiskey throughout the afternoon and evening in the sitting room. It was wonderful. Overall, the attention to detail and warm comfortable vibe in the house made our stay spectacular. I will hope to return and certainly recommend this B&B to any friends traveling to the Highlands.

Hello MedDoc86. Thanks for the great review. Much appreciated. Particularly pleased you enjoyed the lounge so much. With the chilly weather recently the lounge, fire and whisky have been proving pretty popular. Delighted you enjoyed yourselves and thanks again for the recommendation. Regards, Struan.

Having done quite a bit of research through Tripadvisor.co.uk to find the perfect place to stay for one night in Pitlochry, Torrdarach appeared to tick all the boxes, and on arrival it did just that! Louise welcomed us to their beautiful B&B which was really easy to find. We stayed in room 5 and had a lovely view over the front garden and the rolling hills of Pitlochry. The room was large with a lovely shower room that was huge. The interior of the whole house is done to a very high standard and it feels just like home. The public lounge is extremely comfy and we found ourselves enjoying the real log fire after supper at the golf club instead of going into the town for a drink. Straun's Whisky collection is one to be enjoyed too!
Breakfast was magnificent for a B&B and with the 'infinity' dining room over looking the gardens which are home to many a red squirrel, it was a great experience. I can't wait to go back in the summer to enjoy a glass of wine in their garden. Louise and Struan - we have told everyone that they must come and stay with you, you really do have a lovely B&B!
