“Really brilliant break”

Tigh Na Cloich Hotel

Apr 21, 2008

Really enjoyed our stay. Hotel immaculate with fantastic views over and beyond Pitlochry. Owners exceptionally helpful and courteous. Food, all home made, excellent with generous portions - freshly grown vegetables and local scottish produce.

Thouroughly recommend to others and value for money. Five minutes stroll to High Street - short hill involved but worth the effort.

Well, this small guest house is ok for what it is. I dont think it is a hotel, but there you go. Small room small en-suite. Proprietor is a bit too desparate to please.

It is a trifle expensive for what you get. It is a compromise.
Not for me. Sorry

Management Response
PITLOCHRY, Owner
(Management representative)
Mar 23, 2008
Tigh Na Cloich has been classed as a three star hotel by the Visit Scotland quality assurance scheme.

The hotel is licensed and serves dinner every night and so cannot be classed as bed & breakfast only.

With the age of this building all rooms are individually appointed and therefore vary in size and features.

Our service is ever attentive but not intrusive, We are confident in the service and cuisine that we provide, and have no need to be desperate to please.

See other reviews for the compliments we receive from our many satisfied and regular guests.

“Great accomodation and gorgeous food”

Tigh Na Cloich Hotel

We stayed at Tigh Na Cloich for our honeymoon weekend after reading the reviews posted on this website.

I have to say that Peter and his wife were exceptionally good hosts. The hotel was lovely and our room had superb views looking out over Pitlochry.

We ate at the hotel on the night of our arrival and the food was easily the best we ate all weekend.

We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

I stayed here for a number of weeks whilst working in Pitlochry. I had the option of staying anywhere in the area but after the first week in the Tigh Na Cloich I knew there wasn't any point in looking elsewhere. The accommodation was clean and comfortable; the attentive owners and staff have just the right balance of interaction with all guests without being intrusive, making everyone feel welcome; but the food was the winning factor for me. Pete is a first class chef and everything is locally sourced and freshly prepared. I cannot do his skills justice by writing about them but if you decide to visit the Tigh Na Cloich do yourself a favour and stay in for dinner. I did - for 2 months - and I'm now on a diet.
Helen, Pete, Irene - many thanks for looking after me and making me feel at home.

Stayed at the tigh na cloich for the first time in sept 07.
we chose this small cosy hotel because of its location, individuality and hospitality and upon reading the reviews from previous guests we decided to give it a visit;
And we were not disappointed.
We booked Dinner bed and Breakfast and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Staying in room 4 which was extremely comfortable and spacious with the additional leather arm chairs and coffee table gave the room a very relaxing feel with a magnificent view .
A picturesque and peaceful location but within a short walk leads you down to the town.
We stayed 5 nights and the table'd hote menu changed daily with 3 and 4 choices at each course never to be repeated during our stay . even my dietary requirements were taken care of.
Both breakfast and dinner were to a very high standard with lots of variety
This hotel is competitvely priced compared with other hotels of similar standard within this area, and we would. definately return especially to sample the high standard of culinary delights
