“Quirky”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Four of us were on an afternoon coach stop in Pitlochry and needed a cup of tea.
Looked in on Hetties Tea Room and was most surprised by the decor, we weren't sure if they had recently taken over vacant premises and hadn't bothered or had time to decorate of if it was intentional. (Quirky)
We were seated quite promptly and waited a slightly long time for our order to be taken, even though it wasn't particularly busy.
We placed our order which arrived quite promptly.
We were oddly surprised to be given an egg timer (Quirky)and instructed how to use it timing the brewing the tea, although it was already running out so presumably this meant that the order had been at least 3 minutes waiting to be served.

The crockery comprised of oddments (Quirky presumably intentional)

However, the loose leaf tea and the scones were very good and were worth waiting for.

Can also recommend the chocolate Ice Cream which we bought on our way back to the coach.

If back in that neck of the woods, would certainly call in again

“Afternoon tea and cake for 5 ladies!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

We went along to Hetty's tea rooms for some cake and some tea after seeing their amazing window display. Have to say the strawberry, vanilla and chocolate cake had a lot to do with it. Busy place but a lovely afternoon with friends and mothers. It is all served on mis-matched china cups and plates, very quirky and lovely. WIll definately be telling people about this little gem.

“Best avoided”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Wanted to get some lunch. Place was busy but still some free tables. After sitting down realised how filthy place was and then given tatty menus. Waited....and waited...and waited for order to be taken but service was non existent so we left. Probably luck escape. Wish I had visited trip adviser first!

“Reviews are correct - average tearooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013 via mobile

Didn't know what to expect at this place but the reviews seem about right - it's a 3.
I guess on some days they turn out good cakes and some days they don't. We had a carrot cake and I'd say it was a 6/10.

“Tasty treats but poor service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Had tea for two, soup and bread, finishing up with a piece of cake. Everything was tasty but it took 1 hour and 15mintues to have just this. Waited ages to get the cake and by then all the tea was drunk. Sorry to say if you are in a rush dont' go here. The staff don't have clue whats happening and one in particular was throwing menus and cutterly on tables in a very unpolite manner. Be prepared to wait!!!
