“Wonderful place, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2010

Based on Billyboy's review, we organised our Scotland tour to have one night at this gem and we did not regret. We had asked for a room with a view. At the time of booking, our request was added on a waiting list and at the time of our arrival, we had a room in the central building with a nice view (see related picture).

While the room itself was smallish, we found plenty of living space in several rooms on the ground floor, all tastefully decorated, with papers and magazines available and serviced by the bar (see related pictures).

We found dinner and breakfast pleasant and to our taste, with a special mention to the service.

There is a nice green area towards the lake to stroll and relax, though the sound of the motorway on the other lake side is easily noticeable.

Overall, we would have loved to spend another night there and will return should we be in this region again.

Spent 3 nights at this wonderful hotel at the beginning of March 2010

From beginning to end it was one of the best hotel breaks my wife and I have had in Scotland, and there have been many over the years.

The staff in every department gave of their best and the dining room staff deserve a particular thankyou for their efficient and friendly service

Virtually all of the reviews of the Green Park are favourable and I do not think that I am capable of bettering that which has been written by others.
On a personal level, I feel that the Green Park Hotel offers one the opportunity to experience hospitality at it's best . Yes, many hotels may boast a wonderful location, superb food and outstanding service but it is very rare to find an hotel that combines all of these with a truly wonderful atmosphere of genuine friendliness.
In some respects, a break at the Green Park can be likened to having been given the opportunity to break free from the crazy whirlpools in which many of us live and set sail upon a tranquil river - you can meander as gently as you like, get off and explore the surroundings at leisure, smell the roses en route or simply lie back and enjoy the experience. It is very easy to understand why people return here year after year after year.

On the back of the reviews on Trip Advisor we stayed two nights midweek. We have stayed at many so called 4 star hotels but this hotel beats them all. From my booking to departure we were made feel important. On our arrival our case was taken to our room and then we were shown around the hotel,a first for us.The hotel was spotless with great attention to detail. The view from the balcony room was stunning.

The meals were outstanding and we never left the table feeling hungry. The staff were the best we have ever come across always a genuine smile especially the young waitress from Poland called Agnes, she was a gem.

OK,it was a bit expensive , so what,it was great value and we will certainly be back.

Just one thing,This hotels caters for the more mature clientele which suited us fine.A great place to stay.

My partner and I stayed three nights midweek with our two lively dogs, Abbie & Lexie. We chose this hotel because of its Trip Advisor rating and we were not disappointed. Staff, food, location, service all rate as excellent. The hotel has a lot of artwork on display, much of it from local artists and very nice to look at. This gives the place a really nice ambience. You definitely feel pampered here. Our room was very comfortable and roomier than it looks in the photos. It was also very warm; they have underfloor heating in the tower block and this keeps the rooms extremely cosy. Nice if you like to be kept warm. They have wireless internet access in the bar area but be warned it is slow. However, it is also free which is a nice bonus. We are in our mid fifties and felt like we were among the youngest guests there. There are lots of nice touches like the complimentary tea, coffee and homemade baking in the afternoon and the pre-meal sherry in the evening. I'm not a sherry drinker but tried their sweet sherry and it was very nice, a bit like a marsala. Evening meal is starter, then soup or sorbet, main course and then dessert! Then they have the cheek to put out shortbread to go with the complimentary coffee after the meal! We have yet to try the shortbread as we were always so full after the meal. This hotel knows its clients really well and caters perfectly to them. You don't need to look anywhere else.

It's hard to add anything that hasn't already been said in praise of the Greenpark. Food, location, service is top class. We stayed there as an early Valentine's break and Alastair the owner had arranged for bubbly, chocs and personalised card for us in our room - a lovely touch!

Yes, it obviously attracts an older clientele but if you're looking for a tradional hotel that puts the guest's needs first then you'd be hard pushed to beat it. We've stayed in many hotels at home and abroad and this has got to be one of the best and does the Scottish hospitality industry proud.

We went for our ruby wedding anniversary, it was a perfect few days. The staff, room meals nothing could be faulted. Champagne chocolates and flowers were a lovely thought. Would not hesitate to recommend The Green Park.
