“Fabulous play”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

We went to see 'chorus of disapproval' and were just two of the throng in the packed auditorium. Brilliant fun and thoroughly enjoyed it. We booked our tickets and seats online - easy ! Wonderful sale of art exhibition on to while away the interval.

Hi,

Great to hear you had an enjoyable visit (and online experience!) to PFT and enjoyed the show! Come back and see us again soon - Ayckbourn is a popular playwright and I'm sure you won't have long to wait until another one of his fantastic comedies in scheduled to be presented here soon.

“Present Laughter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

A classic Noel Coward light comedy, bordering on farce, this fast-moving complicated play was over-acted to great effect by the cast, especially the lead, a famous comedy actor just into his '40s (who could that have been based on?). Add infidelity, a past wife, a cynical secretary, a cheeky chappy valet, a foreign cleaning lady and a mad stalker what could go right?
We laughed all the way back to Loch Rannoch.

Hi,

Lovely to hear the hillsides of Loch Rannoch were echoing with Present Laughter! Glad you enjoyed the show, come back and see us again soon, we have The Steamie on this Autumn and the Scottish premiere of a new musical of It's A Wonderful Life this Christmas.

“A night at the festival theatre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

We had booked online to see Alan Bennett's Single Spies. Due to the unusual warm weather the theatre was very humid and slightly uncomfortable but this did not distract from the performances or the overall production. The scenery was very atmospheric and cleverly designed to make the most of a small stage, the actors were accomplished and engaging and the costumes added greatly
to the storytelling. A first class experience.

“"Hello Dolly" with style and verve”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

I saw the musical "Hello Dolly" here on Saturday 6th July - the theatre was full. It was a very good production, as the stage-settings, the costumes and the singing/acting were all excellent. I've been to Pitlochry to visit the theatre many times before, usually to see light-comedy plays and they are usually very enjoyable, but this production of "Hello Dolly" was one of and perhaps the best I have ever seen here. The theatre itself is quite modern and large enough to give a good atmosphere, but still small enough to give the place a more intimate feel than some theatres much further south. Tickets are very reasonably-priced for such quality, I think (£25, for a seat pretty near the front and close to the centre). Pitlochry is lucky to have such a venue in the town and certainly seems to draw in audiences from a wide area.

“Saw Hello Dolly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

While in Aberdeen my wife told me to check into what was playing at the Pitlochry Theatre and I was able to get two discount tickets to Hello Dolly for a few days later, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. It is really amazing that a town of 2500 can support such high-quality theatre, but they've been doing it for over half a century. We would go again.
