I am travelling on business and, with little else to do after an evening meeting, started writing this Review on my bed using the hotel free Wifi - which works very well.

It is a typical small hotel but one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in!

Staff are very welcoming, informative and helpful - genuinely interested in you as an individual rather than being simply one face amongst many at a busy city hotel check in desk. Rooms have, as the web site says, been upgraded and mine was small but nicely and individually furnished. Good value and well located in Perth.

My only gripe which stopped me giving an 'Excellent' - no wardrobe in my room or coffee cups but to be fair I would give it a 'well above average' grade for a small city hotel if there was one.

We stayed at the Grampian Hotel 37 York Place Perth for 3 nights 16th to 19th of june 2008 just a few days away for our anniversary == the Hotel staff where very friendly Ali and James both very nice young men and Claire who is one of the owners of the hotel along with her husband was lovely too, we had booked a superior room and it was very comfortable and quiet we hardly heard a thing ( our room was at the back of hotel ) one of the good things was plenty of tea coffee and milk in the room I like my wee cuppa, other than breakfast which was good ( the black pudding and haggis where so tasty )
we did not eat in the hotel at night because I like to try different restaurants and pub food but I would stay at the hotel next time we go to Perth and recomend it to anyone having a few days away it was central for everything we would park the car at night and just walk to which ever eating place we liked the look of and there are lots. If you read this review Claire tell your husband we had a good meal that night at Tony Romos but it just not the same or as good as in America or Hong Kong.

We hadn't originally booked the Grampian Hotel, but due to a problem at our original hotel, they outbooked us to the Grampian.

I panicked a bit when I first received the call a few days before our arrival, as we normally stay in larger hotels, however couldn't have been happier when we arrived.

We received a very warm welcome, with smooth check-in. Despite our early arrival (10am) our Executive room was ready. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and our room was a great size. With super king size bed, large sofa, TV/DVD player and the usual tea/coffee the room was extremely comfortable. Situated at the back of the hotel, we had no issue with noise and had a great sleep!

The bar is comfortable and the breakfast is superb. An excellent choice available with prompt attentive service.

The most redeeming feature about this hotel are the proprietors. They are both friendly and happy to assist in any way they can. If ever there was a more natural couple to provide outstanding hospitality - you need search no further. Well done and thanks guys!!

WE don't live to far from Perth and the purpose of our trip was a relaxing break away from home and was fulfilled 110%. We would definitely return to the Grampian and recommend without hesitation!

“Excellent local hotel”

Stayed in the Grampian as a last minute thing on a saturday night.

We booked thru Laterooms and took an "Executive Room" which cost us £85 on a bed and breakfast basis, this was only £10 more than a standard room.

The room was very large with a King size bed which proved very comnfortable. The room had an original fireplace in it and a decent sized bathroom. Normal selection of tea and coffee / shortbread.

The location is excellent and is a 5 minute walk to the town centre with several bars and restaurants nearby. Perth itself is actually a decent place for a night out, first time for us but we would certainly consider going again.

Although the hotel is near a fairly busy road, our room was on the other side of the hotel and we heard no road traffic at all.

Breakfast was excellent, good selection of cereals etc, but we had the cooked breakfast which was served with good coffee.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grampian and will certainly go back the next time we go to Perth overnight
