“Enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013 via mobile

Stayed overnight on a 5pm deal for my husbands birthday treat. Arrived Saturday afternoon and was greeted by gentleman on reception who greeted us and the check in was done in a very quick and efficient manner. Our room, which we upgraded for a little extra was spacious, modern and well furnished with a huge comfortable bed and big fluffy pillows. We were really impressed. Separate bathroom had bath with separate shower. Dinner in the evening at the bistro was wonderful, well presented and very tasty. Breakfast was also very good. The staff were very attentive and keen to please and service was very good. A very small downside - whilst the interior is decorated in a very smart and contemporary style, the building itself is a little rough around the edges. Walls, windows, woodwork etc. however, it is an old Victorian building. We would stay here again if we are ever overnight in Perth again. Well located close to train station and town centre.

Stayed at very short notice - tall gentleman on reception was not friendly on arrival. Room freezing and only about 50% of channels on TV. Asked him to come up and fix TV, which was done begrudgingly and basically switched on and off which didn't solve the problem, but he didn't wait around to find out! Didn't feel like calling him back as only planning to stay one night. Breakfast ok but service perfunctory at best. Remarked on TV problem on departure so as to alert them and if looks could have killed the gent on reception would be in custody! Room comfortable enough once fan heater on but service very poor.

We had a excellent overnight stay at the Parklands enjoying a wonderful evening meal with a fantastic breakfast the following morning. The room was very spacious and comfortable with all amenities on hand. One of the great assets of this hotel is it's location. It is situated within walking distance of the railway station and also the city centre. The staff were very courteous and helpful. We shall definitely be returning to this Hotel, next time we decide to stay in Perth.

Great place to stay small for a short break and very good value for money the room we stayed in was very comfortable with everything you would need. The star of the stay was eating in the restaurant 63@Parklands, masterchef quality food at at premier in prices. The hotel staff also were very good and were all very helpful, for a short break its one of the best town hotels I have stayed in. The building is what it is an old victorian mansion that needs a bit of tlc round the edges but what it does more than makes up for that.

We stayed at the Parklands using a 5pm.co.uk voucher which was incredible value. The hotel itself is lovely: great location (5-10 minute walk to city centre), free parking, beautiful spacious room, fantastic huge bathroom and the food is beautiful.

What let it down was the service we received from who I assume was the manager - during every encounter we had with him, he was condescending and rude. The rest of the staff were very helpful but he certainly didn't lead by example. My husband and I were a bit younger than the rest of the hotel's guests (we're in our 30's), and I got the feeling the manager looked down on us because of this.

Had it not been for the way we were treated, we would definitely have made plans to return. However, we have no intentions on ever visiting Parklands again.

Lovely comfortable room. Warm inviting interior in bar and restaurant. Stylish and modern. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location for accessing city centre. Marked down on value as breakfast was a bit expensive. Would definitely come back.

I'm a regular visitor for meetings at this fabulous, intimate, first-class hotel. Scott and his team are always keen to ensure they meet our (sometimes quirky!) requirements - nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Although we generally have a quick working buffet at our meetings, I've also dined in their fantastic restaurant, where the food is mouth-watering and delicious. Well situated for those travelling by train! Class!
