Decided to try the Bothy even though it had varying reviews. Started off in the bar with a couple of whisky cocktails, was very impressed with the barman and quality of the drinks. Moved through to the restaurant where we were not as satisfied with the quality of the service, took too long to have a drinks order taken while looking at the menu, once it had been taken it took even longer for the drinks to make it to the table. The menu in comparison was fantastic, the wide array of dishes was just what i look for in a restaurant. Once making our selection i ordered wine, which i asked to be brought to the table with the starter, less than 2 minutes later we have a bottle of white wine without cooler on our table in a very warm restaurant, before i could say anything the waitress was gone. The quality of the food was superb, it could not be faulted in anyway at all, we had 3 courses plus cheese and coffees and all went without a hitch, until i asked for a whisky to end the evening, a simple request turned into a farcical back and forth with the waitress. If you want fantastic food that you will not forget and will not leave you hungry afterwords the Bothy is brilliant, terrible shame that the quality of the service is so poor in comparison. can only rate the bothy 3 out of 5 because of this.
