“Superb food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

We had dinner here on our first night in Nairn. Our hostess at the B and B recommended Sunny Brae and make our booking for us. We were within walking distance, so even better!! John showed us to the lounge overlooking the Moray Firth and we chose a very nice Grenache, a glass of which we partook whilst perusing the menu. When our first course was ready, Ian showed us to our table and offered crisp bread slices. We had the salmon rillette and crispy bacon tart, both served with tasty salads and beautifully presented. We followed this with roasted guinea fowl and a local Nairn lamb casserole. All delicious, and our wine went perfectly with all our choices. Ian showed us the whiskey list ...of 17 pages and it was difficult to choose one, but he knew something about each one!! The menu changes daily, so you would be difficult to please if you couldn't find something to have. We loved our meal at Sunny Brae. Congratulations to Sophie the chef and the men of the family who deliver excellently!!!

“A delightful treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

I can't agree more with the other recent reviews. Unassuming it may seem but persevere it is well worth it. The service was exemplary, the atmosphere relaxed. The wine selection was varied and interesting and the staff were generous and knowledgeable, without being overbearing. The food was tasty and portions generous.A brilliant little place.A treat.

“Superb Evening Meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

We had a lovely family evening meal at the Sunny Brae Hotel. The food was high quality and the service outstanding - efficient, friendly and unobtrusive.

Unassuming on the outside, the restauarnt is a lovely high standard inside.

A real find, thank you.

“Great little family run hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

Great little family run hotel where Sylvia does the cooking and her son John is a qualified sommelier having trained at Skibo Castle. Ian is most helpful and knowledgeable about the wines and his collection of rare whiskies. A great variety of good wines and whiskies. Food is locally sourced and is freshly cooked. Try it if you haven't yet!

“Top class food, top class service, excellent wine list.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

If you are looking for a meal as an experience this is an superb restaurant, probably the best for a few miles around. The wine list is long with something for everyone and the staff are knowledgeable about what is on offer. The food is always top notch and presentation faultless. This isn't going to be the cheapest meal out, but is well worth spending a few extra pounds for the quality and service.
