This hotel is overpriced at £68 per person for B&B. The double room was small, the bathroom had no blind.

The restaurant only had a Table D'Hote Menu - at £34.50 per person - so we went out to a restaurant in Fort William (approx 15 miles away).

After 10.30 on a Saturday night there was no bar man available to serve us a night cap. Breakfast was a very slow affair, although the waiter did apologise and explain that they were short staffed. This place was really lacking in atmosphere and was disappointing for the price, although OK if it was half the price.

Stayed 6/23-27/05. Hotel is in small town of Onich just far enough south of Fort William to avoid large crowds, yet still close enough to enjoy access to attractions, hiking, etc.
Hotel needs some sprucing up, we had to request that huge spiders/webs be removed from our room. Bathroom had carpeted floor - smell of mildew. Should be tile. Also water pressure of shower is a trickle.
Room doors must be locked from inside with old key causing me to worry about whether I could unlock two obstinate doors to evacuate my family if needed in an emergency. That needs to be addressed. Unsafe!
On the bright side, the cuisine in the restaurant is some of the best I have ever had. We ate in the hotel dining room every night we stayed. The kitchen redeemed the entire hotel stay.

It was a surprise trip booked by my husband in february.
From our first greeting the moment we arrived until we left i can honestly say we have never been looked after better.
All the staff, reception,resturant,bar and cleaning- and the host could not do enough for us.

The room was fabulous and the food was out of this world - the head chef himself and the owner( very dapper in his highland kilt ) visited our table each evening to check everthing was ok.
Drinking our after dinner coffee/brandy in front of the real log fire in the lounge or watching the sun go down on the loch. is something i will never forget.
If you want the feeling you are staying in a family home rather than a hotel - this is the place to go.

We were passing through with friends in the October and decided to have an evening meal at the hotel. I couldn't believe it when the owner came over to say hello - he remebered us from February!!

Once visited - You will go back again!!
