“Beautiful setting!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2008

We needed a place to lay our heads driving back towards Edinburgh from the Highlands. Dailanna House was perfectly situated in Kinlochiel and we had a satisfying, comfortable rest there. The gardens and landscaping were really beautiful; Florence certainly has a green thumb! She was also a gracious host and pleasant company. We enjoyed our room and spacious en suite bath and had a great breakfast before setting out towards Perthshire. The views of Loch Eil right off the front yard are stunning. A great way to start or end your day!

We just returned from two weeks in Scotland and half of our stay was in the Highlands. We selected Ft Williams as our base for touring this part of Scotland. There are hundreds of B&B's and Hotels to choose from in and around Ft Williams, so it was a real challenge in finding the ideal place. After narrowing my list to 10 I finally selected Dailanna B&B and I couldn't have made a better decision. It was the well-kept and beautiful home of Andy and Florence Nisbet. Beautifully landscaped, flower gardens and hanging flower baskets everywhere. The rooms were very clean and well kept with views of Loch Eil. Our breakfast was prepared each day by Andy, and served by Florence, and what a delicious breakfast it was. The menu had a wide variety of selections to please anyone. Dailanna is located 10 miles west of Ft Williams. We enjoyed the peace and serenity of the country, slept soundly in comfortable beds, with no traffic noise and no late night party goers. Florence and Andy are excellent hosts who are friendly and eager to please.

My family was lucky enough to get a room at Dailanna B&B. Hosts Florence and Andy were one of the sweetest and hospitable couples we'd ever met and treated us like family. We stayed in the family room with one double and one single beds, which looked out onto the patio overlooking Loch Shiel. The room wasn't big but very clean and cozy, and the bathroom was immaculate also with a view of the loch. The view alone was worth a million dollors.... just look at the pictures and you'll understand.

The area is called Kinlochill, not even big enough to called a village but very tranquile, and all you would hear is sound of nature and the occasional passing of the trains.

The guest house is perfectly located between Glenfinnan and Fort William, close to Ben Nevis, Glenfinnan monument and Glenfinnan Viaduct (more famously known as the bridge Harry Potter's Hogwarts Express crosses). There isn't a big selection of eateries in the "neighborhood", but the couple choices Florence suggested were fabulous. We had dinner at Glenfinnan hotel by Loch Shiel, and the food was delicious, portions huge, and prices unbeatable. Dad had these gorgeous lamb chops with veggies, Mom had the local red salmon and I had the steak, and all together we spent around $60 including drinks... and it was a lot of food! What a treat to have a panaromic view of the loch while munching on my juicy steak!

I will definitely be visiting Florence and Andy soon. Afterall our stay at Dailanna's was the epihany of our Scotland trip.
