We stayed at the Camus house for two nights after dropping our son off at St. Andrews University. Alistair and Louise were wonderful hosts and our room was perfect. We awoke every morning to the view across the Loch. They were both very helpful in directions and advice on what to see and where to eat. We would definitely stay here again

“The best place we stayed on our trip!!! July 2007”

This is exactly why we don't book our accommodations every night in advance. If we had, then we wouldn't have met the Campbells. What a wonderful B&B! After flying from Dublin to Inverness on Aer Arann (on a Mon.) we rented a car (yes, with an auto. trans.) from Europcar in Inverness and drove the length of the Great Glen. Wow! We stopped along Loch Ness for a late lunch and a 1-hour Jacobite cruise down to the Urquhart Castle and back, and also stopped at the Loch Ness Interpretative Center a little further down the road. We were trying to reach Oban ("Oh-bin") but were getting tired. We pulled over to look at a beautiful church along the road and noticed the Camus House next door. They still had their "__ vacancies" sign out (as most of the B&B's did along this stretch - thank you all). We popped in to inquire about their prices and then drove on to check out others places to stay in the area. After a late dinner and watching the sunset over Loch Linnhe, we returned to see if they'd put the "No" sign up yet, which they hadn't; thank goodness. Incredible view overlooking Loch Linnhe and a fantastic breakfast (the best haggis too). The Cambells were extremely warm and friendly, making it our favorite stop overall.

Camus House is a beautiful house right on the lochside, 5mins down the road from fabulous Glen Coe.

The hosts, Alistair and Louise, are very warm and welcoming. We felt very much at home.

Our room was large with views overlooking the loch, a fabulous place to relax after a days' walking. Breakfast was fantastic, my fiance loved the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

“Warmest of welcomes”

Camus House Lochside Lodge

Sep 11, 2006

The very first thing we noticed on arrival was the very warm welcome from owners Alistair and Louise. We were treated as if we were personal friends just dropping in for short stay, and were immediately made to feel at home.
Everything about this charming Victorian B & B is just about right. The bedrooms are well appointed, smartly decorated with the most comfortable beds.
The house itself features a magnificient hall that is also the main lounge. A perfect spot to enjoy that wee dram before retiring for the night.
All in all a wonderful stay. Nothing was too much trouble and we were given a most royal and affeciate send-off.

This beautiful region of dramatic lakes and mountains has many places to stay, but the Camus House is truly special: fantastic setting with mountain views across Loch Linnhe; convenient location for exploring Glen Coe, Ben Nevis, Skye, Fort William, and the western isles; excellent restaurants nearby; tasteful, spacious, and immaculate rooms at reasonable prices; copious, delicious breakfasts; and, without doubt, the most delightful hosts imaginable. Alistair and Louise are utterly charming, good-humored, and helpful above and beyond. Recommend enthusiastically.
