We arrived in Fort William on our Motorcycles and decided just to find somewhere when we got there. They were fully accomadating with our bikes, allowing us to lock them securely round the back. We were sorted out with rooms instantly even though they were up to the eyeballs with Germans and we were made to feel very welcome.
The rooms are dated yes, but the atmosphere was good and the bar was excellent. We sat on the patio with a well earned beer in front of a genuinely beautiful loch view.

Some people need to get a grip... we paid 30 pound a night, which is nothing for a warm bed these days, what do they want for this money? And that was with breakfast as well.

As for the people commenting on the staff, the waiters, waitresses and barmen were all smashing. The same staff were there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and worked bloody hard. We only remember the waiter for being a charismatic and polite young lad, and not some bored mindless drone bringing us our food. Needless to say we plan to return to Fort William next year and there is only one place we will be staying.

Oh yeah and did I mention the Beer? Worth the trip alone.

Stayed in this hotel in September 2006. Its a bit old fashioned and dated - but this just added to its charm. Had a lovely room with a view over the lake, comfortable bed, good food and friendly staff. Tea/coffee making facilities in bedroom very welcome. No hairdryer in room but you can borrow one from reception. Town of Fort William just a short stroll away. Lovely boat cruise on the lake available (approx. 1.5 hours). I would stay here again.

Arrived late just in time for last food orders thought I was in a nursing home at first the whiole place is like a 1970's butlins holiday camp old style decor and even older people. Our room was above the kitchen and the language was filthier than Gordon Ramsey himself!
Food presentation left a lot to be desired, quality below average. Waiter was like one of the proclaimers on speed. I will definitely be walking a 10,000 miles in the opposite direction.

my husband and i stayed at this hotel on a National Coaches Holiday. We had very good weather the whole five days, very unusual for this part of the country apparantly! We found the hotel to be slightly old fashioned and thought it could do with a bit of a refurbishment. A lift would be a great addition especially for the older clientele as there are a lot of stairs. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfy. The views from the hotel terrace across Loch Linnhe are spectacular. We found it rather amusing that we were told where to sit and who we had to share our table with in the restaurant and we had to keep to the same table each evening. The food was very nice although there was only three choices of each course. The portions were not huge but as there was three courses followed by coffee we were never hungry. We found the staff to be pleasant and polite. The evening entertainment was very good which was just as well as there is nothing to do at Fort William. All in all we had a very nice holiday and we would recomend this hotel.
