Travelled in two sections. Crainlarig to Spean Bridge. This section in an ordinary train. Very busy book a seat or you will find other travellers use the seats for luggage and let the eldery and disabled stand. Great scenery but you need a good day to see it at its best. Fort William to Mallaigwas by the Jacobite Steam Railway. Again very busy and not to easy to get into the old carriages if you are less able. Scenery was great even in bad weather. If you leave the window ajar you get plenty of the smell of the steam engine (and smoke) when you go through tunnels. All adds to the overall atmosphere.
Beware when you get to Mallaig, could only find one public toilet - at the other end of the town/village and it was the only one identified on the map.
