“GREAT HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

My wife and I stayed at this hotel with a party of Rolls-Royce Retired Employees .The hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful nothing being too much trouble. The buffet breakfast was always piping hot and there was p[lenty of choice ,the evening meal was 3 course with a choice of 4 starters 3/4 mains and 4 sweets.
The hotel is very central and within a few yards of the station and shops The entertainment in the evening was good for getting the guests up and dancing(not much room for the Gay Gordons).
Would not hesitate to stay there again excellent value for money.Take 10 minutes out to read the hotel guide in the room not the normal boring book very entertaining.

Stayed at this hotel for a weekend spring break.
Room we had was very spacious and very comfortable.
Had breakfast at this hotel and was very impressed by the buffet.
The food was piping hot and was checked regularly by a member of staff.
Would recommend this hotel for a weekend break.
Entertainment was on for the two nights we stayed and all at were staying at the hotel enjoyed themselves.

This is an old hotel but is very well situated with pleasant helpful staff and nice big rooms. Several rooms have lovely views over the loch and hills.
Breakfast is buffet style but with a good selection and plenty of it. The hotel has free wifi in the main lounge and bar area. The hotel is used by the elderly on coach trips as well as hardy souls who have just completed the West Highland Way walk.
The only negative points during our stay was a surly barman and a hard bed so a point off for that.

Room Tip: Avoid a back facing room if you was a view.

lovely place to stay in Fort Willam overlooks the park and so handy for the shops . It is right near the train station for anyone travelling this way . Such a warm welcome awaits you everyone was so friendly. We ate in the food stop rather than the main d/r very good and we could hear the entertainment that was on , it was paula and she was excellent . Rooms were spotless and had all your tea ,coffee, choc etc... bed was so comfortable and made for a good nights sleep. Breakfast had so much choice and was delicious . There is also a sister hotel which is down the road which has swimmimg pool and spa which you can use for free.. so thank you for a lovely stay

This is the third time we have stayed at the Alexandra and it gets better every time. The staff really are helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast is superb; very well cooked and hot! They make the best porridge and kippers ever!! Our room had clearly been recently refurbished and was elegant but comfortable. I love those power showers and every day was a joy, providing me with an invigorating massage to wake me up.
The hotel is well placed but quiet. The hotel restaurant is good value for money and there is also an alternative restaurant within the hotel called the Foodstop. We booked a special Easter deal that included evening meal, to be taken in the main restaurant but we could choose to eat in the Foodstop and were given a £15 credit towards our meal (food only...excludes wine).
There is unsophisticated entertainment in the bar at the weekends for those who like that sort of thing but there are plenty of lively bars just up the street as an alternative!
There is building going on at the top of the main street and the advertising hoards tell us there will be a Travel Lodge and a Weatherspoons pub. We will remain loyal to the Alexandra! A lovely break.

The staff and the service along with the food was excellent . This was a nice cosy and homely hotel. The breakfast and evening meal was also excellent , and the staff could not do enough and our stay was very enjoyable.
The accommodation was some what tired in certain rooms but the staff and service made up for it, thank you once again.
Stayed 10 April for 3 nights
