“Relaxing base for three day stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

My partner and her fifteen year old daughter spent three nights at the Distillery Cottages (No.3) which was an enjoyable yet exhausting stay. Our first real venture into walking where we covered six miles walking along Glen Nevis one day, only because we headed in the wrong direction for the forty minute walk we had planned. The cotage was in a very convenient location for the Glen and only a five minute walk to the centre of Fort William. The beds were clean and comfortable with the fifteen year old not complaing about the sofa bed downstairs which must mean it was comfortable. The lounge/dining area was also comfortable and a nice place to relax after all the walking and driving. Only negative comments were that the kitchen equipment was a bit sparce which made cooking breakfast a bit of a juggling act and the paintwork in places was looking a little tired, but with this being a good base for walkers it is bound to get a few scuff marks. Would recommend this as a good base for the local activities.

Room Tip: Did not see the other rooms but would suggest that No.3 is best suited to a family of four as the be...

As in-easy to book, easy to find, easy access to town and Ben-what's not to like? Comfy beds and clean.

We had 2 and 4, so used 2 for breakfast-more room.

Could have been there the same time as ekmorris below looking at his photo with Mike Peters :)

Lovely cottage in a good location, we stayed here as we were climbing Ben Nevis for charity. the start is just 5 mins up the road.
It had everything we needed for a weekend away, 4 adults were staying and we stayed in number 3, there was a bedroom upstairs with a double & single bed & a sofa bed downstairs.Shower which was great.
Would definately stay again.

Just spent a weekend at Distillery Cottages, 2 adults and 2 children. The location was great for getting into the mountains and as a base for the area. The accommodation was fine for a weekend, the kitchen was well equipped and the tv/DVD good for the kids.

I guess you could find things to moan about if you really wanted to, but you would be being really picky. the cottage is fairly small, but it is plenty big enough for a family of our size for a weekend, and I would happily recommend this place.

A most uninviting experience. Nothing at all appealing about this cottage. Very poor quality of furnishings throughout. No message of warm greeting in any shape or form.

Just returned home after a tour of the West Coast of Scotland. We stayed in Distillery Cottages budget appartment for one night but wish we had booked in for longer! Excellent value for money, compact but clean and just a short walk into the town centre for a few pints. We didn't self cater but would definately be back to make the most of it next time....GREAT!
