“Great food and beers too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

Lovely meal and good service - the restaurant is a nice place to eat and then head downstairs to have a few pints afterwards. Prices were quite reasonable too - so would definitely recommend.

“Great Food and Drink Choices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

After a long day touring around we had a delightful meal at this pub on the high street.
They have a good selection of food and drinks including some locally produced ales and lagers.
Service was good and the quality of the food was excellent.

“Evening meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Tried an adjacent bar The Tavern earlier in the week ( poor food and service - no ales available nor Pinot Grigio nor nachos nor jalapenos with the chilli ) so entered here with trepidation and initial service wasn't great - I had to chase up drinks - which weren't requested as soon as menus handed to us mainly cos not enough staff in situ. But afterwards food was really good - salsa with my blackened steak was exceptional. More staff meant service improved - recommend a visit - best to book though - they were turning people away regularly after 7pm.

“Great pub with good atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

Brilliant for post climb or walk celebratory drinks and decent grub also in the pub with also restaurant upstairs for group seating. Best selection of ales by far. Worth a visit if you're in town
