“Lovely place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

We stayed here for a night. Place was easy to find based on the instructions available on their website. The room was clean and cosy. The bathroom was well equipped with towels, soap, shampoo etc unlike some pricier hotels that try skimping on these. Breakfast was good too. Only problem I had was being told that we could not bring food into the room. I was bone tired from the long drive from Edinburgh and all I wanted to do was crash into the bed. On such days we usually resort to one of those products that need just some hot water or my husband gets me some take away. I think the rule should be mentioned in their reservation confirmation mails. But other than this hiccup we were quite satisfied with this place.

Set uphill and one street back from the main road.Good views of Loch Linnhe although we didn't see it for the mist and rain.Large comfortable room. Within 20 mins walking distance from the town. Our room was at the back of the house and it was quiet overnight.
Everything you would expect to have in a B&B.including a pleasant, shared sitting room for guests.
Very good breakfast.
Only disadvantage was the 4pm check- in.
Good value for money.

I stayed at Blythedale for two nights with my husband and my parents. The decor of the rooms wasn't really my style, but they were very clean and much bigger than in any of the other B&B's we stayed during our Scotland trip. Very nice view of the water from our window as well. Audrey is a good cook and there were lots of options at breakfast. My husband was excited to have haggis and black pudding for breakfast each day!

Cannot praise this lovely B&B too highly! Excellent location, lovely views across the Loch, a very warm welcome from the owner, rooms furnished and equipped to a very high standard, very clean, very comfortable and an absolutely EPIC Scottish breakfast which kept us going all day! Would unhesitatingly recommend it. We had a brilliant two night stay and would very happily return.

When we came to check in, we felt like imposing. And we could hear the man in the room next to us snoring, so we didn't get much sleep. The B&B is clean and the rooms comfortable. If you are just passing through Fort William it is ok but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

the room we were issued with during our stay at Blythedale in July this year was fantastic. It was roomy and clean and best of all, opened up into the most spectacular views. We stayed at a number of B&Bs across Scotland this time around and this was the only one I bothered taking pictures of :) We had a great view of the loch from our rooms to the front and of the mountain to the back. The bed was fantastic- I slept like a baby. Loved the toilet as well, they were really clean and amazingly spacious. The cons: Wifi can be a tad weak. Its a slight walk off from Fort William's high street and those with difficulty walking may find the slope leading to the house slightly daunting.

Room Tip: I stayed in Room 4

We were welcomed into the house by Audrey the owner, she was lovely and very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities that were required. It is 10 minute walk along the bank of the loch into the town centre, where we had a lovely meal at the Chinese restaurant. We sat in the beautiful garden in the evening, when we returned, admiring the evening sunset and the amazing view! The Blythedale has ample parking, and I would recommend here for anyone visiting Fort William.
