“Great hospitality, great stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013 via mobile

Very welcoming with excellent friendly service. Room was very clean and well maintained to a high standard. Top notch Scottish breakfast. On our second morning we had 'breakfast to go' due to an early departure which was also excellent. Thoroughly recommend.

Stayed one night on motorbike tour of Scotland, we were made very welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was very clean and comfortable, it was a short walk into the centre of Fort William where there were lots of places to eat. Breakfast was served in a wonderful conservatory, it was delicious and filling setting us up for a long ride home. Would definitely go back staying for longer hopefully.

Stayed here for two nights as climbing Ben Nevis, was just round the corner from the start, also 10 min walk to the town centre.

Stayed in the family room, was very clean and modern. There was a warm welcoming atmosphere

Service was amazing, anything we needed to know all we had to do is ask.

Breakfast was fab, a lot of the menu was from local butchers.

Will be back again to stay when doing our next climb.

Great value for money

The Guesthouse is 150 meters from the original end of the West Highland Way but don't be fooled! It is not nearby the official end in the center. You will have to walk for another mile to reach the official end.
After the long last hiking day you will not be happy to leave the center of Fort William to walk all the way back and then after a shower walk into town again to eat dinner.

The B&B is clean but sober. They dressed the room nicely but it is quite expensive. We paid 70 pounds for the family room (the last room available at that time). That included breakfast.
The thing we didn't like about the place were three things:
- the location. It's not in the center and for tired walkers that's not ideal;
- there was no shampoo or shower gel in the room, but they claim to have all facilities. When I asked I didn't get any;
- you can't pay by debit or creditcard. You have to walk to the supermarket to get money. So think of that when you walk in the center when arriving.

Stayed as a family in a room with double and bunk beds. Very clean, cosy. Breakfast was excellent. Weather was pretty awful during visit and we were encouraged to use breakfast room for sitting area. No problems and would definitely use again.

I found this a great base for doing Ben Nevis. It's also very close to Fort William itself, which is handy. The conservatory breakfast room was lovely and warm, and the breakfasts kept us going well into the afternoon. As a vegetarian, it was great to have the option of vegetarian sausage and I know my brother loved the haggis he had for breakfast! I can also recommend Janet's advice on choosing a day to summit Ben Nevis - I didn't want to do it the day after arrival but Janet told me that would be the best day weather-wise and I should always put the weather first. She was absolutely right!

Stayed at Ben Nevis Guest House for two nights March 21st/22nd. Accomodation was really nice, Janet & Graham really friendly and helpful made a fantastic breakfast every morning - good location for walking in Glen Nevis visitor centre is just a brisk 10minute walk away.
