“Good base in the 'outdoor capital'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

I booked this BnB with a days notice for a single room as a stop over after some Munro bagging.

I was in a nice, comfortable, en suite room with Tv, tea/coffe facilities, with a view over a neighbours garden. I wasn't troubled by the view as I'd overdosed on views all day!

What I did like was the owners genuine welcoming manner. Very pleasant and interested in my days adventure.

After a few beers in a pub, which was only a short walk from the bnb, I slept well, not hearing any noise from other residents.

Breakfast was good, with lots of the usual items, and plenty coffee. The view from the breakfast room is lovely.

Top marks for my very short stay.

This was a great place to end our walk along the WHW. The room was very comfortable and we were made very welcome. We had the use of a sitting room and bar for the evening and the use of the sitting room after we had checked out and waiting for out train the next day. We had a few long natters with Matt and the dining room staff were very chatty as well. The breakfast was very good and we would will stay there again when next in Fort William.

Jean and Jane were delighted with the hotel. The room had a fabulous view and a bath. Food was great and hosts very friendly. Close to town and start of the Great Glen Way which we started next day. Thanks

Hotel conveniently located and with large comfy lounge with a nice little bar to get a drink from you return in the evening. Very friendly service - stored our bicycles overnight and we could leave our shoes under the boiler so they were (mostly) dry for the next day after a wet day riding the day before.

We stayed in a ground floor room as they were renovating the main upstairs rooms at the time. The room was clean and comfy had all that was expected. Free wifi. Breakfast hearty as expected!

Room Tip: I assume the upstairs rooms will now be the best with better views and they are apparently now fresh...

Stayed here in October 2011. Whilst we can't fault the friendly service, we were disappointed with the room. It was on the ground floor at the side of the Hotel with a large hedge just a few feet from the window. We could have been anywhere really as we couln't see anything from the room itself. The walls were also incredible thin with no soundproofing whatsoever. I think the bed mattress was made of concrete. The view was better from the dining room but that didn't really make up for the other things. Not really somewhere for a romantic getaway. More suited to groups of fishermen or oil rig workers on a weekend break to celebrate their best mates divorce.

We stayed here for two nights as a prelude to walking the Great Glen Way. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was small but spotless and comfortable. The breakfast huge. Hosts kindly let us leave our car there whilst we went on with the walk. Good location within the town - shame about the climate, it does rain an awful lot!

This guesthouse is easy to find and is in an excellent location with amazing views to the front of the property. Car parking is free, on site and plentiful.
We were greeted very warmly and offered help with out luggage. Our rooms were spacious for a guest house with decent en suite showers with good quality shower products provided.
The breakfast was very good, lovely porridge, good selection of cooked items, yoghurt, juice and fruit. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all very friendly and made flasks of coffee for us to take out. The view from the breakfast room is stunning. The small bar is not over priced and stocks a good selection. The lounge is relaxing with comfy chairs and sofas. There is also a nice patio area
In all, a very friendly and relaxing place to stay. We stayed 3 nights and would have been quite happy to stay longer and will certainly return at some point.
